They are marching this time, 60’s and 70’s they were trying to blow up reservoirs and burning holiday homes, not Plaid Cymru

Well first thought is that this is the beginning of the end for the United Kingdom. It appears we are going backwards.
Seems there is an appetite for our country to split itself apart.

Fed up of being ruled by the London bubble . All we hear are the problems of north and south of England

Bridgeit The UK is NOT a country its a supposed union ,which is really big bully WM telling the rest of us to do things their way .Surprising its taken this long for so many to realise they are just collateral damage in all westminsters plans .Good on the Welsh who marched ,lets hope they continue to grow and take back control of their own country .

Back to Federalism then, perhaps with counties having their own armies and regulated borders ?

paddyanne it has not taken this long , Wales has suffered badly and we have always been aware of it.

Wales couldn’t become independent

I asked the question 'Does Wales seek independence?' on another thread about Wales implementing a law to criminalise the smacking of children.
Replies from the Welsh contingent on here were saying 'Never'.

We were in Cardiff over the weekend.

What was more interesting, and not shown on the news, was the no car day. The city streets were closed. Thousands of bikes were out of all types with all age of people riding round and round. The sun shone, music played, there are human traffic lights so the bikes didn't run down the pedestrians...fabulous. If that is Wales, bring it on.

I felt very patriotic.

London isn’t a “bubble” it’s 8 million people very diverse. Bigger population than many small countries. Independence for London!

As an ex-pat Southerner who's lived in the North for nearly 50 years I've reluctantly come to the conclusion that the UK really is Londoncentric, despite trying to argue the contrary for many of those years...

Good luck to Wales. But I fear they don't quite have the resources advantage that Scotland does.

Independence for London ?? They already are going by the rest of the country and we in Merseyside/Cheshire feel like the poor relations.
It's been finance from the EU which has built Liverpool and not assistance from government departments close to London which oversees their own building projects and businesses.
No doubt about it, we in the NW have been left out in the cold by our so-called governing body !!

Mmmm - good luck with independence - no more European money due to Brexit (many Welsh people voted to leave) and the knock on effect of less generous funding from the government. Let's hope if this is the case you manage to keep your very generous further education system which is much more generous that it is for English young people.
