Unsurprisingly this seems to have been sparsely attended. Given that thousands (tens of thousands?) of his people starved to death while he lined his pockets and grew ever more monomaniacal I think he was lucky to get a state funeral at all.
Has anybody heard whether any international figures turned up?

Our current live-in carer hails originally from Zimbabwe - she is disgusted by there being a state funeral.

I haven't heard of any but can only hope that where ever Mugabe is now, the bad turn out at his state funeral is the least of his worries.

Who cares ?

My sister worked with a nurse from Zimbabwe who went home when she finished her training. When Mugabe came to power she and her husband moved to South Africa.
She said he was a bad person, and would not live in the same country with him.

Who cares ?

Well clearly you don’t.
Why bother to comment?

I would suspect Mugabe arranged his own state funeral.

I sincerely hope his successor is better for Zimbabwe.

It seems these greedy, despicable dictators get away with it for years because they generate such fear.

Makes me wish there really was a Hell. smile

The family of one of my sons in law was forced out of Zimbabwe after receiving death threats when their farm was 'reallocated'. The farm had employed, and been home to, some native farm workers and their families. They were also turned off when the 'veterans' were given the land which is now in complete disarray.

I wont tell you what he called Mugabe.

Apparently he was very bitter about his impending death in exile just before he died.

Killing millions will do that. Who knew?!

No commerce RIP thread on GN. How those people suffered under his regime, not that things are any better now. A salutary reminder where a far left dictatorship can take it's country.

As Donald Tusk might say "There will be a special place in hell waits"

"commerce" I didn't type that forgot what what word I had in mind now. Damn phone ?

Hmmm, better buried than, as it turned out, as the president of the basket case of Africa rather than its bread basket.
