could you tell me where they will find the staff- from top Consultants, to nurses and cleaning staff, and everything in between. And cut immigration?
I do not wish to be controversial but maybe they could try the current unemployed? Where I live we have a good number of unemployed people , some of them would even like to get jobs if the chance arose. I know many who have tried for jobs in the NHS. I even know a couple of nurses who applied for roles they were well suited to. They are now working in other medical sectors.
This is just my experience. My husband applied for several jobs in the NHS . He is a skilled tradesman and the jobs required his skills. He got one interview. He didnt get that job.
I was later told by a friend who worked in the local hospital group that there was a method they used for selecting candidates. They had to apply diversity and equality rules which meant they needed to look at individuals from protected categories first. My husband didnt qualify for any of those.
Apparently he got an interview because someone thought our odd name put him in a category. When they saw him he didnt fit.
But that is life. It doesnt matter he has another job now where the employer looked at what he could do, what his experience was and how well he spoke English rather than diversity rules. That is just my experience, please do not jump down my throat for saying it.
