Diane Abbott would be in charge of home security and immigration.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 05-Nov-19 19:03:41

We would be doomed!!!!!

Dottynan Tue 05-Nov-19 19:07:36

That will be interesting. If her interview with Nick Farage on LBC is anything to go by then yes we are all doomed !!!!!!

NanKate Tue 05-Nov-19 19:58:11

Heaven help us. How did she ever become an MP ?

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 20:02:13

Surely even Corbyn ( yes, I know!) wouldn’t be daft enough to make her Home Sec.....would he??

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 20:03:11

Although, the thought of McDonnell as the Chancellor is even
more worrying!

Sara65 Tue 05-Nov-19 20:17:52

Well stranger things have happened over the last few years, I shouldn’t rule anything out, just because to a sane person it seems an act of insanity.

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 20:24:18

The way things have gone this year I can’t rule anything at all out! ?
We could have almost anything happening.

Grandad1943 Tue 05-Nov-19 20:42:17

Well, it is interesting to see that the Tory stalwarts on this forum are now conceding that a Labour government is now a distinct possibility judging by their posts on this thread.

With Jacob Reece Mog taking this government to a fresh downward level by his utterances today, It has been another very bad day for the Tory party.

Doubtless, that has brought forward this thread and its contributions in an attempt to boost the morale of Tory supporters on this forum.

Last week Abbott was asked about choosing private schooling for her son , she replied ‘ oh that was years ago’

As flippant and dismissive as her reply on supporting the IRA.,

I’ve changed my hair style since then ‘

Calendargirl Tue 05-Nov-19 20:52:39

Aargh!!!!!!

?

Cherrytree59 Tue 05-Nov-19 20:53:34

Labour and SNP.
Or to put it another way
Jeremy and wee Nicky.

Grandad1943 Tue 05-Nov-19 20:54:47

Yes, but not as flippant Anniebach as Jacob Reece Mogg stating that the victims of the Grenfell Tower possessed "poor judgment."

Totally Disgusting.

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 20:56:16

Grandad.....I haven’t seen a single post on GN from anybody who thinks the results of the GE are ‘in the bag’ for either the Conservatives or for Labour. Most think it will be a hung Parliament. We could be wrong as this GE is different from all others and could well result in a majority for Johnson or a Labour/SNP pact.Hard to believe that Labour could win it on it’s own, but that’s as far as I am prepared to guess.
Few people ( I should imagine) object really strongly to a Labour government per se ( as in the past) but a Marxist led government is another thing entirely.

Anniebach Tue 05-Nov-19 20:59:21

Not as flippant as you grandad43 referring to another disaster as ‘an event’

Calendargirl Tue 05-Nov-19 20:59:38

Let’s hope she could work out how much it would cost to fund police numbers as that caused her a few problems in the past.

grapefruitpip Tue 05-Nov-19 21:03:41

What's wrong with her?

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 21:06:08

hmm

Anniebach Tue 05-Nov-19 21:09:17

She can do as Corbyn did in an interview, had his assistant bring him a calculator on set when he couldn’t recall a figure .

grapefruitpip Tue 05-Nov-19 21:12:12

No really, what is wrong with her?

I need more than a silly face.

Grandad1943 Tue 05-Nov-19 21:16:41

lemongrove in regard to your post @20:56:today, I would agree that these are early days in this campaign and with the volatility of the electorate any result could come about.

However, what makes your post and others so irrational would be references to Corbyn leading a Marxist government should the Labour Party be elected to government.

In the above, whatever the personal political beliefs of Corbyn and those around him, I do not believe the Labour leadership have proclaimed that on election they will declare Marshal Law and ban all future elections.

Therefore your comments suggesting that a future Labour government would be made up of authoritarian communist is nothing short of absurdly laughable.

Anniebach Tue 05-Nov-19 21:21:33

Margaret Hodge was reselected, the Corbyn devotees failed to get rid of her

M0nica Tue 05-Nov-19 21:22:04

A Labour government a distinct possibility? I read an article today suggesting it could lose 10 seats in Wales alone - Wales, a country most people expected to sink below the waves before its people stop voting Labour.

But then I am not a Conservative stalwart.

Ginny42 Tue 05-Nov-19 21:25:37

How far back are you going to go to dig up stuff about Dianne Abbott when there are people like Johnson as PM and Rees Mogg as Leader of the HoC ? Johnson is currently lying about the true state of the NHS and Tory intentions for its future, in addition to concealing critical information about Russian interference in our politics which really should be published before the GE. Mogg is currently making offensive comments about victims of the Grenfell fire tragedy?

No need to go digging in the past to find plenty of examples of inept and deceitful politicians.

lemongrove Tue 05-Nov-19 21:26:36

Grandad you know as well as anyone that Corbyn and McDonnell and their inner circle are hard left supporters who have always admired Marxist ideals and will do all they can to
Implement whatever they can get away with doing.
To pretend otherwise is beneath you.
