Presumably you have all read Farages porker of the day - that the Conservatives offered bribes and even hinted at peerages to get some Brexit candidates to stand down.

He offered no corroborative details, no names, details of offer or when and where. Just said the offers have been made.

He did name one person from the cabinet office who had made a call. It was on channel 4 news last night.

I strongly suspect that our Nige is telling something near to the truth here.

It has D Cummings' fingerprints all over it.

Just watched Ann Widdecombe on Sky News. She said she had been approached by the Tories to stand down but categorically stated for the record that it wasn’t Boris nor Dominic Cummings who had approached her and that that was all she was prepared to say on the subject ‘I can only speak for myself’.

Oh well! If Gabriella though some Remainers needed fresh meat, she missed her target with me because I didn't see the boast about the donation and didn't know she's left in a huff. Was she the one who had hissy fits when people shortened her name? She had all the hallmarks of a wind-up merchant.

I'm all for a good drama, but this real life one, with all its twists and turns, are getting a bit too much for me. There's always be a role for Farage as the pantomime dame.

I am no supporter of Boris Johnson or his party, but even he could not be this stupid. If true I would suspect someone further down the ladder. Dominic Cummings or another research assistant.

Um, last time I looked the leader was generally held responsible. So one assumes it was run past him.

With Ann Widdicombe’s contribution and Falconer referring the matter to the police, it’s not a good look is it? I could use many words to describe AW ( and have) but liar has never been one of them.

I think there’s two explanations - yes he is stupid enough and/or they judge everyone by their own grubby standards ie anyone can be bought off

She is and I believe her about that. On the other hand, as a non religious person I don't understand how a so called religious person can have so many uncaring views .

indeed- and also why the word of a genuinely religious person seems to somehow carry more weight than that of a non-religious person- as if being non religious means you have less credibility or morality !

I don't think it's that jura2, I just think that for AW her faith is the most important thing in her life and for her to say she would swear on the bible is, in her terms, to give it extra weight. I can't stand the woman but I believe her on this.
