Trade Deals with China after Brexit

Many Tory MPs have continually named China as a country with whom we can do trade deals. Yesterday the Observer ran a story about 1 million people who are Chinese muslims are in a detention camp for "re-training" . Today on the news that figure was increased to 3 million. The Chinese governments idea seems to be to eradicate the cultural heritage and religion of these poor people.

Today also, the news that nearly 90% of the council seats in Hong Kong have been won by pro democracy candidates.

Do we, as a country, really wish to do deals with such an authoritarian regime?

We may or may not want trade deals with China, but we must not be attempting to trade from a position of desperation.

As an influential member of the European Union, the world's largest and most successful trading block, we can pick and chose our trading partners.

If this brexit nonsense is not stopped we will be begging for trade around the world.

I thought we'd been trading with China for years.

My grandfather would always comment on the Made in China labels

And apparently China is one of the UKs largest trading partners

Sadly, money and profit is usually put before ethics.

We already buy oceans of plastic tat and cheap clothing made in China. Being in the EU hasn’t stopped it. Why would we want more? Another Brexit myth.
