Are you sure, Harry?

Not about your decision to cut and run from your country and family.
Not about bleating that you feel guilty about isolating in a multi-million pound mansion in LA during Lockdown.
Not about suggesting to frazzled parents that they should celebrate the moment, rolling around the floor in hysterics. confused

But....When you made that call asking for money generated by your wedding to be used for feeding children during the pandemic, are you really sure it was the Archbishop of Canterbury who picked up the phone?? grin

merlotgran.

Am sure many will be saying, oh not another Harry thread, leave him alone etc etc., but I for one am fed up with all the threads being about the virus and lockdown, serious though it is, so I welcome a Harry type diversion, even though I have no idea what it relates to.

Eglantine21 Thu 16-Apr-20 16:36:26

There I was only thinking yesterday, what a nice change a Harry thread would be.

(And spellcheck just changed it to Garry. But I saw in time?)

Calendargirl, At the beginning of March Harry took a call that he believed to be from Greta Thunberg and her father. He made some utterly daft comments.

The call was really from two Russian pranksters. hmm

I don’t get the money donated from his wedding video thing. Would that be after he repaid the costs of it?

Jomarie Thu 16-Apr-20 16:42:23

Me too smile

Jomarie Thu 16-Apr-20 16:44:10

My post related to Calendar Girl's response !

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 17:27:47

Why does he roll around in hysterics

SueDonim Thu 16-Apr-20 17:39:10

Dear oh dear, Harry. He doesn’t have a clue, does he? confused

Sussexborn Thu 16-Apr-20 17:41:57

Perhaps this is Harry’s idea of the REAL world?

merlotgran Thu 16-Apr-20 17:50:45

Every time I see footage of their wedding I feel angry at the waste of money, whether or not the RF paid for it. They didn't give life in the UK a chance yet use money donated for various charities as a way of promoting themselves.

That money was donated by people who genuinely support the RF and celebrated Harry and Meghan's wedding because they thought they were going to be a force for good in this country.

And now he's even started name dropping. hmm

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 17:52:22

When talking to people in distress you say you are rolling around in hysterics , not comforting is it

Calendargirl Thu 16-Apr-20 17:53:29

Oh thanks Merlotgran, I knew about the Greta thing, but didn’t realise Harry had been pontificating about other stuff until I looked at your post.

Sparklefizz Thu 16-Apr-20 17:56:32

I feel rattled to read about Harry and his comments and criticisms ..... in fact, I don't want to hear a single thing about Harry & M at the moment.

He doesn't have a clue. He has walked away from the problems we have here. I wouldn't think the parents of extremely ill children want to hear about him "rolling around on the floor in hysterics" with his healthy child.

I would rather read about a real hero like Captain Tom ... someone with great backbone and a sense of duty.

sodapop Thu 16-Apr-20 17:59:08

Totally agree Sparklefizz Captain Tom is a true gentleman

Jabberwok Thu 16-Apr-20 20:11:02

I think most of us agree about Prince Harry!! I don't think he's over bright which is perhaps the kindest thing to think!!! ???for Captain Tom, perhaps Harry could learn a lesson or two from this admirable gentleman!

Oopsadaisy3 Thu 16-Apr-20 20:13:32

I hope that he has watched Captain Tom walking for the NHS and hangs his head in shame.

My goodness did any of you actually read the article? Or did you just jump in to have a go at Harry again. He was actually tallking to people and if it helps them or makes them feel better well good for him. Personally I wouldn't want him calling me, but the people involved in the charity certainly appreciated it. And might I point out apart from Will and Kate talking to 3 children there hasn't been a sign of any of the rest of the RF.

Sparklefizz Thu 16-Apr-20 20:24:21

trisher Yes, I did read the article and I stand by my comment as in: I wouldn't think the parents of extremely ill children want to hear about him "rolling around on the floor in hysterics" with his healthy child.

I feel that, once again, Harry has brought the subject round to himself. Still, if the charity appreciated it .....

merlotgran Thu 16-Apr-20 20:29:53

trisher Charles 'opened' the London Nightingale hospital via video link when he was still recovering from coronavirus and William 'opened' the Birmingham one today.

trisher Thu 16-Apr-20 20:32:01

They are nodding and smiling Sparklefizz so I think they did appreciate it. When he says those words they all laugh with him. I don't know the charity, I don't have a disabled child but the people he spoke to do, and they obviously appreciated his efforts.

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 20:32:07

He said ‘ hopefully through this video and other things we will
make it clear and obvious to the government etc’ .

Jabberwok Thu 16-Apr-20 20:58:09

I think you'll find other members of the RF are quietly doing what they can. I know Sophie Wessex is helping with food distribution, it's just that they don't make a big song and dance in order to draw attention to themselves. H &M are good at that, its always about them and their hard done by life, along with Harry's mental problems of course,

Anniebach Thu 16-Apr-20 21:04:37

He asked the BBC to give money

SueDonim Thu 16-Apr-20 21:17:40

Which government is that, do you think, Anniebach? The government of the country in which he lives, maybe? Or the government of the country which he has chosen to leave? hmm

I also wonder if he and Meghan are rattling around their LA mansion looking after Archie without the help of housekeepers, cooks, gardeners and so on, who are all on lockdown?
