Just discovered the White House has released Covid-19 commemorative coins... who would want one do you think?
I wouldn't, even though they are currently discounted!

I think I saw on twitter that the white house gift shop selling these coins is nothing at all to do with THE White House.

What a very odd thing to do, though...

It's the US version of those British scam companies who have "Mint" in their names and sell commemorative coins.
They have nothing to do with the Royal Mint (the company that produces the coins we use) and the 'coins' they sell have no value beyond what fools will pay for them.

GrumpyGran8 yes, have just looked into this, you are quite right!
The “White House Gift Shop” went into private ownership in 2013.

Still think it’s an odd thing. And the fact that so many of us thought it was even possible does single out the current White House!
But apologies everyone, I did get this one wrong!
