A Big Money Incentive

My husband found this in the news and suggested I post it to see what your views are .........

'A provision in the March 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, known as the CARES Act, gives a major incentive for hospitals in the US, most all of them private for-profit concerns, to deem newly-admitted patients as “presumed COVID-19.” By this simple method the hospital then qualifies for a substantially larger payment from the government Medicare insurance, the national insurance for those over 65. The word “presumed” is not scientific, not at all precise but very tempting for hospitals concerned about their income in this crisis.'

The lengths to which some will go ??

This has been known for some time, that hospitals have been inflating the numbers of Covid deaths to gain more Federal aid, and it is why all reports of Covid 19 deaths in the States should be treated with suspicion.

Presumably there is another way of considering whether Covid deaths are occurring in the numbers claimed. Don't they look at the "excess death" numbers? These don't prove conclusively that all excess deaths are as a result of Covid but it would seem highly likely that a significant number were Covid-related.

It certainly appears that there are excess death because there are many reports of lack of space in morgues, funeral homes and cemeteries. Does anybody think that the primary cause for this is something other than Covid? If so, what?
