This government is useless in everything they are doing or not doing. Demonstrations have not been effective. So an online group has been created which it hopes can spread gain millions of people with aim of then saying look we want to remove this useless government.

So what do GNetters think could this work?

Colin Blakemore

I am creating A group of like minded individuals to remove the government

Pie in the sky.

pies can be shot down- like clays or pigeons

Elegran Fri 21-Aug-20 09:01:13

I hope they also have something better to put in its place. Removing the current government is only half the job, if they do it without doing the other half there will be even more chaos.

Wait four years and you can vote again, otherwise forget it!
Something to do with democracy I believe.??

It's going well, isn't it. £296 raised in 6 days. He's on a winner there ?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 21-Aug-20 09:08:53

I’m not sure about this group, but I am reading that there are Conservatives with a conscience who appear to be finding their spine to stand up to Cummings and his “project destruction”

It can’t come too soon.

Anarchy. Soros will be pleased at the overthrow of democracy. Probably funding it.

BlueBelle Fri 21-Aug-20 09:20:33

Democracy lemongrove please don’t make me crack my cheeks the word democracy was lost a few years ago with these Undemocratic chumps leading the way

It would be pleasant to think that over eighty Tory MPs would stand up to the Ultra Right within the House of Commons, however, I feel that is very unlikely to happen.

All those with the backbone to stand up to Johnson were thrown out of the Commons and party prior to the final Brexit vote.

Those that were brought in to replace the above MPs in the General Election are through and through Johnson people. They may make noises but action I very much do not expect to witness.

Have you encountered the 3.5%, Grany?

Illte Fri 21-Aug-20 09:54:49

Just out of interest Grany what would we have in its place?

That's a real question not just a stirring if the pot.

ginny Fri 21-Aug-20 10:00:18

As above
Do they have someone who has all the answers ?

lemongrove Fri 21-Aug-20 10:04:27

Well....let’s just have online petitions instead of General Elections shall we? Then if the outcome still doesn’t suit you, we’ll have another petition etc etc.

Grany Fri 21-Aug-20 10:13:44

They say

Let’s work together to remove this corrupt Tory government as soon as possible, replacing it with a Temporary National Coalition Government with a remit to implement a new Proportional Representation electoral system.

You should give up reading online conspiracy theories. Read Maizie's link.

growstuff Fri 21-Aug-20 10:18:02

The people who will remove Johnson are from within the Conservative Party. They're keen on holding on to their seats, so they'll get rid of him when they think he's a vote loser and if they think they've found somebody better.

Jabberwok Fri 21-Aug-20 10:18:24

What a good idea lemon!!?. Every time a government is unpopular, get up a petition to overthrow it!! No need for any GE's ever again! (Those pesky peasant votes would be a thing of the past,) You could have a petition two, three times a year!! All change, tickets please!!!
Blimey, what next!!

Illte Fri 21-Aug-20 10:19:23

Sounds reasonable. I hoped for a kind of coalition in this situation. Everybody working together for the common good.

Who would chose the members of the Coalition? How would that be done?

Jabberwok Fri 21-Aug-20 10:23:17

Someone better? Who knows, Boris was elected especially for Brexit which he will see through, after that? Rishi Sunak anyone?!!!

Ramblingrose22 Fri 21-Aug-20 10:25:08

Grany - exactly how do they propose to bring about the removal of this Government?

It's all very well to deplore, deplore, deplore but what can they really do?

Jabberwok Fri 21-Aug-20 10:25:41

Depends on the independent definition of the common good? Different people have different ideas as to what that is! Arguments before you even begin!

henetha Fri 21-Aug-20 10:28:47

Absolutely not. Like them or not, the government were democratically elected and we must wait until the next general election to vote them in again, or out.
