Displayed behind him are certain well chosen titles! The Subtle Knife, Fahrenheit 451, Glass Houses, The Toll, Guards Guards, The Twits and so on!

Wonderful!

It has even made the online news here, very well done to the Librarian.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 27-Aug-20 13:04:48

They will make sure it doesn’t happen again?. I wonder which civil servant they will sack over that!

Gwyneth Thu 27-Aug-20 13:06:39

Bit infantile really I thought.

biba70 Thu 27-Aug-20 13:46:31

Absolutely brilliant smile

Barmeyoldbat Thu 27-Aug-20 13:48:28

Love it

TwiceAsNice Thu 27-Aug-20 14:11:26

Sorry I think the librarian needs to get a life !

Furret Typical of the Guardian to take a snide swipe at Boris Johnson at every opportunity. It says it all about the juvenile and jealous attitude of the Labour party and it's supporters on here.

Glorybee Thu 27-Aug-20 15:01:02

I think it’s pretty infantile, and spiteful too, if it turns out to be done deliberately. To think that grown, educated people took the time to do this, tittering like 5 year olds as they did it is disappointing to say the least.

I would think exactly the same if anyone had done it to Corbyn, Starmer or anyone, for that matter.

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Aug-20 15:02:52

I agree Glorybee, TwiceAsNice and Janpt.

MayBee70 Thu 27-Aug-20 15:13:22

Hang on a minute. I thought it was us ‘lefties’ that were supposed to be the ones without a sense of humour. I’m so tired of seeing Johnson swanning around hospitals and schools doing quasi electioneering photo shoots when he should actually be working and have often wondered how people who work for the NHS and schools feel about his visits. He didn’t even wear have the decency to wear a mask.

Jabberwok Thu 27-Aug-20 15:14:28

I agree Glorybee! It's just all the time, which is becoming so tedious and if done deliberately by educated adults purporting to teach our children, boringly infantile and rather shameful. I too would say the same whoever the person was.

MayBee70 Thu 27-Aug-20 15:15:09

By the way, I’m not jealous, just furious at the people governing the country at this moment in time. What is there to be jealous about?

Jabberwok Thu 27-Aug-20 15:22:32

FGS, one minute he's accused of disappearing while K.S is on the trail visiting, the next under fire for - appearing!!! If he disappears, he's clearly shirking and doing nothing, if he appears he's clearly on a jolly and, you've got it, should be in No 10 working!!! Which should he be doing?!

Oopsadaisy4 Thu 27-Aug-20 15:24:36

Agreed with Jabberwok so I just deleted my post, rather than say the same.

That put the cat among the pigeons! I’ve tried the humorous approach on a couple of threads MayBee70 and obviously been too subtle. Then tried the opposite and that got a lot of knickers in a twist.

And it wasn’t the Guardian who first picked up on this it was a T.E.S. reporter ?

It wasn't the Guardian which originally spotted the book titles. It was the TES.

Did you listen to any of the speeches he made in that school? They were gibberish. One was even an attempt at pro-Tory propaganda, which is forbidden in schools.

The book titles could be a blessing for Johnson because people are discussing them rather than the inanity of what he said or the fact that in one classroom the camera angle tried to hide how close the pupils were to each other.

growstuff Thu 27-Aug-20 15:55:28

SNAP Furret about the TES.

Where on earth does anybody get the idea that anybody who criticises Johnson is jealous? It's a mind boggling straw man argument!

Nortsat Thu 27-Aug-20 16:00:16

Classic ...
Thank you Furret, I had missed this.

MayBee70 Thu 27-Aug-20 16:01:36

I googled TES and got Tesco’s...that was a bit of a shock....

Furret Thu 27-Aug-20 16:10:04

Times Educational Supplement. What the thinking man’s Tory reads and leftist teachers.
