Oh Harry.

Please leave the political comments to Meghan.

Just keep it zipped

Here we go !
We've had a few days with no news of the Sussexes
Now everyone can have a blast at them again
Hooray

Pantglas2 Wed 23-Sep-20 18:48:54

They do invite comment by making it themselves......

As long as they’re not deemed working members of the Royal family (and it’s just been announced that they are not) they can pontificate away to all who’ll listen!

eazybee Wed 23-Sep-20 18:49:54

There is a news item about them nearly every day in the DT. Their press officers are earning their keep.
Latest: they didn't have anything to do with the recently published book about them.
WELL!

BlueBelle Wed 23-Sep-20 18:59:24

They don’t invite comments just that some people love every bit of gossip about them that they can find to get it all going again ,,,,,stirring the cauldron
Three days without sticking the knife in must be a record

I remember it was just like this with poor old Camilla in the early days, the stick that woman took, but now ......

merlotgran Wed 23-Sep-20 19:00:36

It's time they gave up their titles.

merlotgran Wed 23-Sep-20 19:05:17

Three days without sticking the knife in must be a record

It must be very important to you if you count the days.

Lexisgranny Wed 23-Sep-20 19:12:14

I read somewhere that only the Queen can remove the title of Duke, whereas it would need an Act of Parliament to remove the title of Prince. Parliament presumably have far more important things to think about at the moment. Not sure how true this Legality is, but have a sneaky feeling the Duchess would not be too bothered to no longer be a Duchess if it meant she would be a Princess.

But they bring it upon themselves, Bluebelle!!

I thought someone brought up in the RF would have more sense than to get involved in politics.
Poor Harry, he's not the sharpest tool in the box, is he.

But she has behaved impeccably, Bluebelle, hasn't she.

She has earned her stripes.

Chewbacca Wed 23-Sep-20 19:17:48

What's he done now? confused

Callistemon Wed 23-Sep-20 19:20:44

Commented on how the American public should vote in the forthcoming Presidential election!

Can you imagine - some voters will do just the opposite.

Pantglas2 Wed 23-Sep-20 19:25:15

They make regular comments and statements which people then comment on in return - seems fair enough to most.

Camilla never once commented on anything, regardless of bad press.....

Of course they invite comment!

They are constantly cropping up discussing this, that and the other. It's tedious.

I thought they wanted to live a private life which would have been great.

Lexisgranny Wed 23-Sep-20 19:30:34

I’m sure if an American, married to a British actress, after living here for a couple of months started to tell us what to do, our reaction would be “what a jolly good chap”! Who on earth is advising them.

Ellianne Wed 23-Sep-20 19:31:13

How come Harry is suddenly so knowledgeable about American politics?
Once again, I'm not sure he is being very respectful to the Queen making those comments.

biba70 Wed 23-Sep-20 19:40:19

What comments? Perhaps context and quote would help?

Lexisgranny Wed 23-Sep-20 19:49:20

Checkout headline in the Times, sorry not good with links.

Ellianne Wed 23-Sep-20 19:50:29

As we approach this November, it's vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation and online negativity," the duke said as he sat on a bench alongside Meghan.
He also reminded Americans to be discerning in the content they consumed online.
"When the bad outweighs the good, for many, whether we realise it or not, it erodes our ability to have compassion and our ability to put ourself in someone else's shoes," he said.
"Because when one person buys into negativity online, the effects are felt exponentially. It's time to not only reflect, but act."

Something like this biba70 but it needs to be listened to alongside Meghan's comments for full impact.

The whole performance came across as very rehearsed. ........ I'll introduce the subject, you fill in a bit of waffle, I'll sum up and then we'll both say thank you and goodbye together.

Urmstongran Wed 23-Sep-20 19:51:19

These 2 clowns probably just added more to the Trump votes than they have actually taken out.
?

Chewbacca Wed 23-Sep-20 19:53:08

Well, I seem to recall Obama giving the UK his unsolicited advice just before the referendum and we all know how that turned out! Always best to keep out of another country's politics; it has a habit of backfiring.

Meghan should really sweep her own doorstep first, don't you think?

Grumpygran12 Wed 23-Sep-20 20:02:22

I agree with BlueBelle!

biba70 Wed 23-Sep-20 20:03:27

Thanks Oopsminty. Will watch later, listening to Keir Starmer now.
