I know, John Sopel, North American BBC Editor, said that the White House has a fully staffed and equiped medical centre of its own, so it is strange that he has been moved.

Presumably not such a mild case after all? Not really sure what to say without being a hypocrite. Just have to wish him well and hope he learns something from it.

He was on tv just 24 hours ago.... virus usually seems to take longer than this to worsen.

yep,he's copying Boris , a wee rest in hospital and a diet while he's there and he can come out looking as if he's been ill...its the new fridge hideaway .

On Newsnight they said that the facilities at the White House are nothing like they have in the hospital.

Looking at him walking to the helicopter, he doesn’t appear unwell.

Can’t stand him but wish him well.

Johnson apparently walked unaided to the car that took him to hospital so they say - who knows? As if we are told the truth.

He will be fine. He is a billionaire. He will have the best treatment on tap not available to millions of others. He will come out all super smug about being fit and in tremendous shape, and how America has the best healthcare in the world, and we shouldn’t worry about a bit of Chinese flu etc.

This virus doesn't care how much money anyone has ! Or how well looked after you are with the best of everything.

Apparently been given two experimental anti- viral drugs in the form of a cocktail.

There is no particular treatment for Covid so being wealthy makes absolutely no difference to the progress of this virus. I am no fan of Trump, but certainly wish him well and a speedy recovery, as I would with anyone else.

If he was an ordinary American citizen he wouldn’t be able to afford to go into hospital.

I’m cynical. It might improve the sympathy vote.

Are you accusing the hard working staff at St. Thomas’ hospital who have put their lives at risk throughout this pandemic of lying? Absolutely disgraceful comment. How low can someone sink to make such a statement about our dedicated NHS workers.

I've been impressed with American friends who loathe Trump and all he stands for. Their social media is usually filled with fierce criticism. As is their right.

Not now though. They are wishing him well. Along with the likes of Obama. Biden has withdrawn the negative adverts. They appear to be more mature than some of us. I'm sure the critics will be out in force once he's better.

There was an actor on Breakfast TV yesterday, talking to Kate Garroway. She was visibly shocked when this chap said he was jumping for joy at the news. She knows all about the horrors that Covid can inflict on people.

Well they are pumping enough chemicals into him from what I heard on the radio this morning so he’s either worse than he thought or the spokespeople say, or it’s a North Korea mock up
