It was a good launch with good speakers including the young Zarah Sultana a passionate MP and a timely climate warning from Noam Chomsky and the former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis. So important the Peace and Justice initiative right now.

Is this the campaign to kill off the Labour Party?

Grany Sun 17-Jan-21 16:56:28

Four-part plan from #PeaceAndJusticeProject . First is "a green new deal" as we've already heard.

Second plan from #PeaceAndJusticeProject is: economic security. Projects for the future but asking supporters to link up locally to address current (Tory-created, dare I say?) problems together.

Third plan for #PeaceAndJusticeProject is: international justice. Opposing warmongers, stopping the arms traders from profiting from suffering. But also tackling Covid-19 related inequalities like vaccines not being available everywhere

Fourth plan for #PeaceAndJusticeProject revolves around taking on the entrenched moguls like those in the mass media.

Wonder what happened about the Forde enquiry into The Labour Report?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 17-Jan-21 16:56:52

Split the Labour vote and they will be handing the Conservative Party the keys to No.10 for the foreseeable future.

Is that really what Labour voters/party members want?

Grany Sun 17-Jan-21 16:57:52

The new organisation aims to bring people together – not just within the United Kingdom but internationally – to devise, and bring into being, radical plans to improve the lives of ordinary people who have been crushed by selfish rich people for far too long.

It should be Johnson government that send shivers down your spine.

Corbyn is a peace maker

The media had to convince people not to vote for Jeremy who wouldn't believe the billionaire media

The Jewish MP’s didn’t get peace or justice under the reign of
Corbyn,

Ah, that’s where Jeremy went, thought he was down his allotment.

Unfortunately Corbyn is tarred by the lies that the right wing media wrote about him so for him to lead a new organisation is not such a good idea. (I'm writing this as a former supporter who joined the Labour Party because of him)

There are other organisations across Europe now, hoping to change peoples' attitudes to all those things that Grany mentioned above. But they will only serve to split the votes.

At the last election the LP had a good manifesto - until the last few days when Corbyn started to add in new ideas such as free broadband for everyone. Unfortunately the manifesto was rubbished by the Tory press and yet we see the Tory govt utilising some of those policies.

Has Corbyn not also tarred himself with his long record of opposing whatever the Labour Party Leadership proposed?

Grany Mon 18-Jan-21 18:17:55

He only votes with his principles what he genuinely believes in. For instance against the Iraq war spoke about PFI

Also The Peace and Justice would link with other good causes internationally. Several thousands watched the PJ Launch and welcomed, praised it. Noam Chomsky spoke as did other good people. Noam said it should be Jeremy who launched this Peace and Justice initiative after all his lifelong anti racism and peace campaigner. So Jeremy has many good friends of the Like of Noam Chomsky ect.

I think like lots of people say this will be a force for good and bring lots of like minded groups together to make Peace and Justice in the world.

And so as someone said Jeremy has Noam as a friend Johnson has Banon who does Starmer have? Just wondered.
