I’m certainly not against democracy, but it’s limitations should be acknowledged. It would be foolish to imagine that if we voted for a president rather than have the monarchy, then everyone would be happy.

Many people complain about Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, the Brexit result, and a large number of different members of the Cabinet. That’s what democracy gave us. I’m not complaining about any of them, or agreeing with any of them, just pointing out that with democracy there will still be people who complain and dislike the result.

leave with a sense of grace and dignity. If any royal did leave graciously and in a dignified manner, I too think think most people would understand.

I didn't say it out loud but I think it would have been perfectly understandable if they had done just that.
