Protest March in London today

From what I can gather the protest seems to be anti-lockdown, anti-vax, anti-masks and they want to reopen the UK.

Let’s hope the scientists are correct and that the chances of catching Covid-19 outside are extremely slim.

Mollygo Sat 24-Apr-21 17:43:37

All part of the YCTMWTD population.

Sarnia Sat 24-Apr-21 17:45:26

Rent-a-Mob out in force again. No social distancing, no masks, griping against vaccine passports. What a bunch of morons.

EllanVannin Sat 24-Apr-21 17:54:08

Those who have lost loved ones won't be best pleased !

The changeing face of Britain !
Selfish, Entitled and Ill-mannered.

Galaxy Sat 24-Apr-21 18:02:06

I think that's harsh Ellan, that is a group of arses, but actually Britain, in the past year has seen shop workers, care staff, refuse collectors, people not on high wages being on the frontline with no complaint. It has seen people volunteering to deliver food, it has seen NHS staff give their lives in some cases, it has seen working parents on their knees trying to be all things at once, teacher, employee, etc. It has seen young people spending 7 hours a day in masks, studying hard for exams that never occurred, facing a very uncertain future. Those people as I say are arses but no not representative of the face of Britain.

MaizieD Sat 24-Apr-21 18:03:23

Who are we to judge? We're just selfish old people who inflicted all the lockdown pain on the rest of the country because we didn't fancy dying before our time.

Or so they seem to be saying...

There are anti-maskers there wearing yellow stars shock I believe they think they're part of a persecuted minority.

I'm just wondering why a vigil for a murdered woman was heavily and sometimes violently policed but all these thousands of illegally gathered persons are being watched benignly by our boys in blue... hmm

suziewoozie Sat 24-Apr-21 18:07:29

Bravo Galaxy

Galaxy Sat 24-Apr-21 18:13:56

Wearing the yellow star is just so offensive I dont even have the words for it.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 24-Apr-21 18:20:21

Totally agree that those wearing yellow stars are beyond contempt.

Blossoming Sat 24-Apr-21 18:23:02

I think their misuse of the yellow star is disgusting, shameful and utterly stupid. Comparing Covid passports to the Holocaust. I could hardly believe what I was seeing.

Gannygangan Sat 24-Apr-21 18:23:07

Maybe they should go over to India and see how they get on there.

EllanVannin Sat 24-Apr-21 18:24:12

So you believe the protesters to be right then Galaxy ?
I was referring to the protesters, not Uncle Tom Cobley and all ! No need for the lecture, thankyou.

EllanVannin Sat 24-Apr-21 18:27:47

The changeing face of Britain is obviously the anti-establishment brigade isn't it ? Those who go against what is right in this world.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 24-Apr-21 18:32:34

Did the police stop it because of covid rules as they did the vigil on Clapham Common?

JenniferEccles Sat 24-Apr-21 18:54:22

Don’t those idiotic protesters realise that we are coming out of lockdown ?

So much of the country is open including town centres and all being well virtually everything else will reopen in just over three weeks time.

What is the matter with these people?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 24-Apr-21 18:55:59

I have just watched ITV London news, no
mention of the protest march.
Obviously a case of nothing to see here

Nannytopsy Sat 24-Apr-21 19:01:46

My DSIL is policing that mob. Don’t criticise the police, they are trying hard to control and protect everyone. They expect to be on duty in heavy, hot kit for a very long time and subjected to verbal and physical abuse.

Maggiemaybe Sat 24-Apr-21 19:08:26

Well said, Nannytopsy. As ever, damned if they do, damned if they don't. And I do wish people would at least try to remember that they're not all "boys".

Galaxy Sat 24-Apr-21 19:12:33

No you said the changing face of Britain, I just dont think they represent Britain, I think the people I mentioned represent Britain. And no I dont think they are right that's why I used the word arsessmile

Redhead56 Sat 24-Apr-21 19:29:16

I have been ever so thankful throughout this time to everyone who has worked to keep this country going. No matter what job they do I am grateful I have no interest in protesters I don’t know who they are or what they represent. No amount of protests is going to change the living hell we have all endured this last year let’s just move on.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 24-Apr-21 20:26:42

Police officers are now being attacked and injured, serving police officers are posting this on Twitter!
