The Tories are putting just £50 per pupil into the education recovery fund. That's compared to £1,600 per pupil in the US and £2,500 in the Netherlands.
Why the difference? The Tories only care about the children of the super-rich, not the kids who've been hit
And that's in addition to removing money from the Pupil Premium funding and a new formula which has meant that funding for pupils with special needs and those in deprived areas has been cut.
The catch-up tuition schemes have been outsourced to recruitment agencies, which are making a profit, and (in some cases) recruiting non-qualified tutors and overseas students.
I expect people have read that the government's own "catch-up tsar", Kevan Collins, has resigned over inadequate funding.
