Boris Johnson and his metaphorical fridge

Johnson is coming to Scotland later this week.

He can't even be arsed bothered to meet the woman running the show.

He's not just a buffoon, he's a rude, disrespectful buffoon.

Or is it just me who thinks that? I expect he's too busy, learning how to use an umbrella, or something like that.

I agree, and I also think he’s a loud mouthed bully. To quote the Scottish play, “Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. He won’t want to meet NS because he won’t bear comparison.

What’s the betting he’ll fly in , raid the dressing up box for a photo op with whatever factory/ farm / building work/ vaccine centre he’s visiting, meet a couple of selected tory donors, have a photo op and fly straight back to London.

Can we have a sweepstake for the time of appearance of the first hi-viz jacket?

Sir Keir is visiting too apparently. We had Rishi last week. We've never been so popular. Is there a referendum coming up? ?

Parsley3 Wed 04-Aug-21 08:46:40

This unaccustomed love bombing is making me quite giddy.

MaizieD Wed 04-Aug-21 08:50:33

I wonder if Johnson will be quite so keen on the high viz gear now that he's advocated it for chain gangs...

Lovely cartoon in the Telegraph today.

Kalu Wed 04-Aug-21 08:59:08

We also had Harrison Ford visiting recently. ? Oooh! It’s all happening here. Could do without MacJohnson arriving for a photo shoot!

timetogo2016 Wed 04-Aug-21 09:02:27

Who needs high viz gear with hair like that?.

Lovely cartoon in the Telegraph today.

The Police were seriously referring to policing this visit as Operation Bunter. ?

Alegrias, sorry, I’m being a bit thick - what’s the fridge reference?

I’m imagining him in a tam o’shanter, a la Russ Abbott

Alegrias1 Wed 04-Aug-21 09:13:26

At the time of the General Election in 2019 Fanny, he (allegedly) disappeared into an industrial fridge to avoid answering difficult questions from a reporter.

He doesn't get the warmest of welcomes in Scotland, unless the visits are choreographed.

I know that many of you ( SNP supporters) won’t like this fact,
But he’s the PM and can visit Scotland whenever he likes without having to take tea with Sturgeon.I won’t mention scones.?

FarNorth Wed 04-Aug-21 09:18:42

He's not a buffoon, that's all an act to disguise his completely self-centred cunning.

Alegrias1 Wed 04-Aug-21 09:19:08

There's a Janey Godley interpretation of the last time he turned up at Bute House but there is a lot of swearing in it, be warned. smile

He can visit anywhere he likes, any time. Came for his hols last year with Carrie and the bairn. But nice people on formal visits like this tell the leaders of the country in advance of arriving and show respect to their positions. I'm sure Nicola would have had a fridge handy, in case he needed one.

Carry on deluding yourself that its just the SNP who think he's waste of space though. smile

lemongrove Wed 04-Aug-21 09:26:43

Of course he would have ‘informed’ Sturgeon of the visit ( or
His staff at Number Ten would have) where on earth do you get your information from?!
He just isn’t going to meet her for discussions at this time.

Alegrias1 Wed 04-Aug-21 09:31:33

He didn't though smile

As of two days ago she had had no notification. He only responded when she sent him a letter - well his "people" responded. I guess he's so important that his movements have to be kept secret. hmm

Whitewavemark2 Wed 04-Aug-21 09:32:10

He was invited to a meeting with NS.

He rather shamefully turned it down.

He is like a child.

Is he really? Thank you for explaining that to me.

Of course he can. It doesn't mean that he's not an insensitive buffoon though.

If there's one piece of advice that's be passed from my grandparents through the generations to my grandchildren it's "Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something"

FarNorth Wed 04-Aug-21 09:54:43

After that previous visit to Bute House, he left by the back door - to avoid his adoring fans, I believe it was.

So she says, as much of a manipulator as anyone else , the other day manipulated England’s Covid figures.

"The other day?"

It was over a year ago. grin

The sound of barrels being scraped, there.....
