Mother of our PM
I first heard of Charlotte when she was the subject of a Sky Arts program. Her art was is certainly very dark.
She suffered from very poor mental health and also had Parkinson’s.
A difficult and interesting life.
Rest in peace Charlotte flowers

Condolences to the Prime Minister at this sad time. He described his mother as a powerful force or similar words. He will miss her very much I should think.

I hadn't realised there had been a program about her art, I quite like it.
RIP Charlotte

Saw a programme about her, her portraits were incredible. Such a gifted painter. Losing a mother is hard for everyone. RIP Charlotte.

RIP Charlotte.
How very sad for Boris and the family.

love0c Tue 14-Sep-21 09:18:56

I wonder just how much time she spent with Boris this last two years?

Can’t really see how that is relevant

A sad time for her family. Little Wilfred will never know his grandma. Condolences to the family.

Smileless2012 Tue 14-Sep-21 09:28:34

I lost my mum a year ago and Mr. S. lost his a couple of months ago. It leaves a huge void.

Condolences to Boris and his family.

love0c Tue 14-Sep-21 09:28:39

Well rosie, it is certainly relevant to a friend of mine. Her dad has a week or two left at most. She is just so glad she carried on seeing him during the past two years

rosie1959 Tue 14-Sep-21 09:39:52

loveOc I have no idea how much he has seen of his mum but she is still his mother and he has lost her
Will he feel the loss any less if he has not been able to spend as much time as he would have liked
My condolences to your friend

totally agree with your first sentence rosie. However, if he has not spent much time with her I think he will suffer far more. The feelings of regret can be utterly heartbreaking. This is assuming he did actually like/love his mother. We have to remember not all parent/child relationships are always good.

It's a special bond, whether they spend much time together or not, between mother and son. Charlotte sounds quite a character and may she rest in peace. Condolences to Boris and family.

Sad news RIP to a talented woman who lived a life that wasn't a bed of rose's. She has left her mark.

She had had PD since the age of 40 and died aged I think 79 - she did very well.

As little as many of us have done during lockdown probably.

I did read an article about Charlotte recently and she was indeed an extremely talented and intelligent person and very resilient.

Please put your wooden spoon away, love0c

Questioning Boris's relationship with his mother who has just died is distasteful.

RIP Charlotte.

Condolences to all the Johnson family.
It was reported that her death was sudden so it must have come as a shock.

RIP Charlotte Johnson Wahl

merlotgran What a very unfeeling post! Some people have suffered terribly at their parents hands and vice versa. Read some of the estrangements posts. You could cry for so many people!

Callistemon Tue 14-Sep-21 10:24:43

love0c Many of us have not seen our families at all in the last 18 months and it is, I do happen to know, devastating for many if someone is ill and perhaps dies and they had not been able to spend time with them.

trisher Tue 14-Sep-21 10:26:18

I think this lovely portarait called "Alexander Painting" shows how she felt about her son and perhaps her ambitions for him

love0c Tue 14-Sep-21 10:27:03

Callistermon exactly and that is what I said and why I said it.

FannyCornforth Tue 14-Sep-21 10:27:49

That’s a beautiful portrait
Thank you trisher

Chewbacca Tue 14-Sep-21 10:28:35

Charlotte was a wonderful artist and, like JaneJudge I loved her work. I'm very sorry to hear of her sudden death and pay my respects to her family.

love0c post @ 09.43, your post is distasteful and inappropriate.
