Prepaid Funeral plans

There will be new regulations brought in to cover Prepaid Funerals and some providers might not be able to trade.
Safe Hands is one who has decided not to go for regulation.

If you have prepaid for your funeral , check that your provider will still be trading after the new regs come out in the Summer.

On the BBC website, one couple have taken their money out, losing £800, rather than lose all that they have paid in.

Oopsadaisy Thanks for posting about this subject.
...................................

if you' ve had a prepaid funeral in place for a few years you need to phone them every so often to make sure they are still trading......There was a case on Rip off Britain of a family finding the company had folded and the money gone.....there loved one had died and had paid into a prepaid funeral but the money wasn't there.

Have already given cash to son 1. Have absolutely no faith in the longevity of these companies. He's invested it in premium bonds so here's hoping we become millionaires before my demise!

I had been going to set this up but I've decided to leave the money in my account rather than risk lose it.

MIL paid for her funeral years in advance, she had a Direct Funeral in the end because of Covid rules May 2020, no refund was forthcoming though.
But I thought this might be of interest.

My aunt on the IOW has sent me her 'Dignity' plan, I've just phoned her so she can check.

Can I ask for a link to the source of the information please Oopsadaisy1.

Thanks Oopsadaisy1 she was so upset I've found it and glad to say Dignity have applied, she's relieved.

I wonder why it's taken the FCA so long to do this?
