Just had to share this

Went for our fourth jab this morning which was taking place in the Polyclinic car park.

A Mercedes drove steadily up and took about a 10 minutes to park. Out of it stepped a 102 year old gent with his wife of 99 (she drove). They had been married 80 years.

Everyone let them totter you the head of the queue

Wow Whitewavemark what an achievement, still alive, still married and still driving!

That is so fantastic. Imagine being part of their family with their genes.

She didn’t wear glasses either. He had one of those walker things as he was very tottery, but still going. I just love it when ancient people keep so mentally and physically active if possible. It definitely keeps you going.

They thanked everyone for letting them go first and we all waved them off like royalty?

If she took ten minutes to park are we sure she was safe to drive ? Sorry, everything else is marvellous about the story.

What a lovely story!

However, I don't know if I could last another 35 years with Mr MDoll. He is in the bad books at this moment, after missing a call from the emergency plumber! ?

I very much doubt it! I think that if she does ever get stopped they will almost certainly will take her licence away.

Mind you I doubt she ever goes much above 20, which given most residential roads are at that anyway, she would not look out of place.

Oh dear! Is he a bit deaf?

Whitewave a lovely story and wonderful that they are both still here (and together).

Calli, the plumber phoned my mobile, while I was upstairs.
My darling husband ignored it, as it "wasn't his phone!", despite the caller ID, saying Plumber. He did call upstairs to say my phone was wringing. Why didn't he just bring it up to me? ?

Lovely story thank you for sharing

Callistemon21 Thu 05-May-22 16:52:18

I hope it's not an urgent leak, Marydoll!

I did warn you about Rab C all those years ago when we went on your hen night ......

Marydoll Thu 05-May-22 20:04:57

Calli, plumber has been and its not going to be cheap, but at least he came! He was here for hours. DH said he has never met anyone, who could talk more than me! ?

Anyway, sorry for derailing the lovely sentiments on here. How wonderful to be together for so long.
