Press accompanying Home Secretary to Rwanda; not exactly a balanced representation

Ms Braverman is flying out with representatives of some of the press; The Times, The Daily Mail, Daily Express, Telegraph, GB News.......nobody from The Guardian, Mirror, Independent, or the BBC.

Says it all really, just who her target audience are.

She's out to prove that Rwanda is going to be like Disneyland for our rejected asylum seekers.

Meanwhile a friend in South Africa tells me that no one on the Continent can quite believe how despicable we are (even though they have memories of and live with the results of colonisation). We're going to send people to a country that it's own people become refugees to escape from. Why would they treat our asylum seekers better than they treat their own people?

What a god forsaken government this is.

Has she been deported at last?

Next?

😂 MawTheMerrier

I thought they always took the press that they wanted when going to other countries? All political parties, that is.

I started another thread on this subject which I've asked to be deleted to avoid duplication.

This trip is paid for by public money. When Tory supporting papers are read by 80% of newspaper readers why are they so afraid of the other 20%?

Interesting that the BBC has been excluded. I wonder why?

Braverman obviously trying to deter hard questioning - I hope the other journalists hold her to account.

Trying to convince us that the BBC isn't a government mouthpiece, I suspect. The'll probably still be emailing the BBC to tell them what to say...

When I hear Rwanda I can’t be the only one who thinks Massacre .

The Rwanda scheme stinks and no amount of news massaging by Braverman will freshen it up.

You cannot be serious!

Those journalists are going to do what their paymasters want and are unlikely to be critical.
