Praising the quality of the homes for our expelled refugees.

Does the woman think the British people are stupid?

GagaJo Sat 18-Mar-23 18:53:36

Sorry! Basic detail left out. Homes in Rawanda.

GagaJo Looks like it!

Vile woman. Worse than Pretty useless Patel

Casdon Sat 18-Mar-23 19:05:01

She should set an example, move out to Rwanda permanently herself and prove how wonderful it is. I might believe a single word that she utters if she did that.

Ali23 Sat 18-Mar-23 19:21:10

I’m in despair with this awful woman and her propaganda.

Grantanow Sat 18-Mar-23 23:08:53

Disgusting!

Perhaps she's comparing them to some of the mould-ridden, dripping hovels with collapsing ceilings that people live in in the UK.

It depends on how low the standard is set.

I wouldn't want to be dumped in Rwanda irrespective of the accommodation!
I wouldn't want a relative of mine to be dumped there either.

This woman would be a joke if the whole concept wasn't "in real life" - awful.

GagaJo Sun 19-Mar-23 09:51:48

It isn't about the quality of the homes. It's attempting to whitewash a very despicable, cruel action.

I know that.

But, regardless, the comparison is stupid even on a superficial level because of the reason I said as well.

I would like to hear from those on here who take refugees into their homes or live next door to an establishment that homes them. Unfortunately I only know of one place not to far away that have found it to have caused so much trouble. It would be nice to hear of positive personal experiences. Only tgen can you get a true picture.

Well, I was listening to the bill in depth and have been reading about it.

Quite frankly I think it is entirely unworkable, but the authority Braverman is taking to herself should alarm us very much indeed. I don’t think that there is any time in the UKs democratic history that we have had such an authoritarian government.

Apparently there is only room for 200 folk, so what is going to happen to the others who arrive on our shores? They have no recourse to law so will remain in limbo for ever?

The policies contained within the bill are cruel in the extreme, an example x - a child that is born n the U.K. to a political asylum parent, will be transported the minute it reaches its 18th birthday.

There are so many cruel details like that.

I have also been reading about the poor health care system, so if an asylum seekers health becomes gravely ill with say cancer - what then?

Rwanda is on the brink of all out war with The Congo so is Braverman still determined to send these folk there?

That has happened for years, though. I remember when a family from Zimbabwe had asylum here and the daughter was being sent back to Zimbabwe as soon as she was 18 and said she would be forced to join Mugabe's army and she knew what the consequences of that would be.
Another young man who became 18 here had taken refuge in a church and was being sheltered there by church members.

It's inhumane.

Farzanah Sun 19-Mar-23 11:02:26

Braverman decided to take with her only right wing press and also excluded the BBC.
Only wanted positive coverage, which is extremely concerning.

Farzanah Sun 19-Mar-23 11:03:16

Lineker was not far from the truth with his tweet.

Delila Sun 19-Mar-23 11:08:18

Apart from all other considerations, what on earth made her choose Rwanda?

FannyCornforth Sun 19-Mar-23 11:11:09

As part of the deal, we’ve got to have some of Rwanda’s unwanted folk too, haven’t we?
It’s a particularly dodgy exchange program I think.

The difference now though is that the child/adult will have no recourse to the law. Braverman has taken that jurisdiction away from the courts.

Beggars can’t be choosers. Other countries were approached but the U.K. was told to b….r off.

Riverwalk Sun 19-Mar-23 11:19:29

She's trying to establish herself as the darling of the far right in the Tory Party - even if her various endeavours don't succeed she'll earn Brownie points for having tried.

The blame will be laid at the door of the wokerati, lefty lawyers, blah blah - instead of where it belongs, the party which has been in power for 13 years and let the situation get out of hand.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 19-Mar-23 11:22:13

I am sure that the Tory party having moved to the far right is beginning to leave some of its supporters behind.

I believe 40+ abstained from the vote - pity the spineless idiots didn’t vote against it.

Delila Sun 19-Mar-23 11:22:30

WWM, quelle surprise.

Farzanah Sun 19-Mar-23 12:33:03

Yes I agree Whitewave and they are paving the way to lose the next GE. Witness the support for Lineker.
I just wish there was something more substantial to replace them than the Tory-lite Labour Party, whom I will have to vote for by default.
