On the one hand he wants to be in the customs union with the EU, but on the other hand he wants to destroy the EU.

Keeping his options open (being duplicitous) while he sits on the fence waiting for the keys to No 10 maybe.....

Well, there are some who are far worse than Jeremy Corbyn in their words and actions.

Jacob Rees Mogg for example, tells the whole electorate how much better life will be in Britain when we are outside the EU, and then moves all his client's financial interests in his investment company to Ireland.

Along with the above, we have arc Brexitier Dyson who is so confident that Britain will be the worlds greatest place to invest in following Brexit, that he moves the headquarters of his company to Singapore.

And there are many more in the Tory party that have carried out similar.

The daft thing is, as a Leaver, I fully agree with JC.

The EU is and should be a left wing cause. Big businesses love it because a mobile, nomadic workforce (open borders) can not be unionised. Wages are suppressed, big profits are made for the fat cats, who are laughing all the way to the bank. They are all Remainers.

IF Corbyn had stuck to his beliefs and fought continually to leave the EU he would have had my respect. I don't know what games he is playing but I suspect it's all about forcing a general election and opposing everything May does.

He is a busted flush as a politician.

Depends on who has his ear at any given time. After reading some of the information about him revealed in a new biography. He strikes me as being a bear of very little brain, who is rather proud of not using what brain he has.

Yes, M0nica, I used to see Corbyn as an enigmatic backbencher rebel and quite enjoyed his angry outbursts. I thought he was principled and slightly eccentric, but he has proved he is anything but.

He is being exposed as a real fraud, and a dangerous one because he plays games, shifts his position almost daily and comes across as someone who desperately needs notes before he speaks. Definitely lacking in brain power I'd say...or conviction. Makes one wonder who really leads the opposition. His strings are being pulled by Momentum, who will ditch him before long for another Militant socialist.

So, Corbyn now has different views since his "early years". However, could not the same be said of Theresa May, being a remainer but now leading the effort for Britain to leave Europe, (and failing miserably).

But for NOW, JC is facilitating the slide into catastrophic No Deal. We only have a few weeks - he sat on the fence so so long. And now he is playing silly games. The letter to Mrs May, agreed with Senior colleagues from LP, did include the bit about a Second Ref.- and HE CHOSE to exclude it. We all know he did NOT FORGET - but he went against his own party, and against the decisions at Conference.

Didn’t Labour & Conservatives say honouring the result of the referendum was part of their election manifesto?

Only the LibDems canvassed on holding a 2nd referendum .... and they only got 7% of the votes for their trouble.

Day6, it matters little what happens in the Labour party, for they are not the party of government at this time of crisis in Britain.

However this shambles of a government is made up of the Conservative party where the divisions in that party have taken this nation to the very edge of disaster. Only today, over 30 leading food manufacturers and distributors have written to the government stating bluntly that they simply cannot cope any longer with all the uncertainty over Brexit.

In the above, those companies need to gain certainty for forward planning, processing and ordering even from outside the EU. In that, what do they witness, Theresa May again kicking the can down the road to keep the rabid right of the Tory party quiet.

Party before country. Self-interest before national interest.

It's not what's happened in the past with Corbyn or anyone else in politics; it is what is happening now.

Can anyone suggest how we'll manage without the backing from the EU ? This will be after many businesses have pulled out and gone abroad.

Corbyn is waiting in the wings for the country to fall on its a**e then he'll jump in. ( God forbid ) The man is anti-British, anti business, anti capitalist and anti Semitic. Business people will leave in their droves if he ever becomes PM ! Those who are left and are comfortably off will be taxed to the hilt along with anyone else who earns over a specific amount. Corbyn has been sussed over a lot of things in the last year.
He did well at first as nobody knew anything much about him, but he has been exposed now as a weak vacillating excuse of a leader, who cosies up to Hamas the IRA, Madhuro and Russia!

For that, Corbyn has been accused of "sitting on the fence" by Britain's right-wing press.

Corbyn this weekend moves towards this shambles of a government in an attempt to form some agreement that will stop Britain "crashing out" of Europe without a deal.

What does Corbyn receive for that, criticism from within his own party for moving away from the Conference policy. However, Theresa May then rejects his move out of hand and again "kicks the can down the road" to appease the Tory party rabid right wing.

However as stated earlier in this thread, the Labour party are not the party of government in this crisis. However, the Tory party are the party of government, and what happens there (currently a total shambles) is of the utmost importance for many thousands of jobs and in that the economic wellbeing of all who reside in Britain.
