Do you paint your toenails?
Do you. ..
a) paint them only in the summer?
b) paint them all year round?

ginny Sun 12-Jul-20 22:30:34

All year.

JuneRose Sun 12-Jul-20 22:32:18

Generally just in the summer - sandals and flip flops call for bright toenails!

Furret Sun 12-Jul-20 22:33:54

Just in summer - and at Christmas time,

Only in the summer Although my back is bad at moment so I have problems just
cutting toenails, never mind painting them!

grannyrebel7 Sun 12-Jul-20 22:35:59

All year round, but I change the colour more often in the summer.

Smileless2012 Sun 12-Jul-20 22:37:42

All year round but brighter colours in the summer.

No, I can't cope with painted nails, looks pretty to me on other people but weird on me and I've been blessed with nice feet. I think I just don't like change. My toenails seem to be aging a bit though so maybe I do need to look into a natural looking colour that won't make me feel weird when I see it. I can still touch my toes so should be able to do it lol

Mine are painted all year round and last week just changed to summer red which looks nice. Before that they were a magenta pink for awhile.

Welshwife Sun 12-Jul-20 23:23:35

I do mine in the summer and often it lasts for a good bit of the winter. I only use shades of pink/brown colours in the main - cannot get a on with blues, greens etc.

MaizieD Sun 12-Jul-20 23:26:01

No, I've got horrible feet. I don't like to draw attention to them.

I can barely reach my left foot anyway, arthritic hip doesn't like it grin

Our salon is back in business and taking appointments from Wednesday this week. Time for a pedicure and polish on my toenails. When the sun shines my sandals come out of storage.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jul-20 23:50:52

Usually in the summer and if we went away at other times but I haven't bothered so far this year.
My toe nails look much healthier for not garnishing them.

It has become more difficult to reach them and do a neat job and I end up with nail varnish where there shouldn't be any.

Callistemon Sun 12-Jul-20 23:53:18

garnishing??
Autocorrect.

Toenails garnished with sliced cucumber, radish roses and sprigs of parsley always look nicer than plain.

NotAGran55 Mon 13-Jul-20 00:11:19

All year . Why not look after you self all the time ?

MissAdventure Mon 13-Jul-20 00:13:34

Is being too lazy a good answer to that? blush

SueDonim Mon 13-Jul-20 00:42:59

I get gel nails done in summer and they last for ages. I haven’t this year, for obvious reasons, but hadn’t‘t thought to do them myself. blush

I might try garnishing them, though. That sounds different. grin

Just wondering - why is this post in the News and Politics Forum?

Just wondering - why is this post in the News and Politics Forum?

Because the main photo on the main page of this site is very, very, very white, pale-

So it only makes sense to create a thread about toes under politics and news-

Sorry but no it doesn’t.

Not usually in winter, unless they’re going to be on show, but in summer I give myself a pedicure every couple of weeks. I put a clear base coat under the coloured polish.
Some people’s feet look nice au naturel, but mine don’t!

Re blue and green polish, etc., I’d always thought they were weird until dd had hers done blue shortly before her reg office wedding - her dress was in peacock blues and greens and
the colour matched, looked lovely and changed my mind.
I still don’t think I’d use them myself, though - dd has nicer feet, I don’t want to draw attention to mine.

Calendargirl Mon 13-Jul-20 08:40:41

I’m with MaizieD.

My feet are very unattractive, with hammer toes and tough, uneven nails. I cover them up as much as possible.

I would love to have straight, even toes, then I would paint them and wear pretty sandals.

Puzzler61 Mon 13-Jul-20 08:44:52

Unfortunately my feet came out of the same mould as Maizie and Calendar ‘s.
I try to cover up as much of my feet as possible with carefully chosen sandals in summer so I don’t expose others to the ghastly sighted my bunions and toes!

Puzzler61 Mon 13-Jul-20 08:45:21

Sight, not sighted .
