That made me smile. I started to download the app but then realised it was twitter which I seem to have taken against.

Incidentally, the answer to the shark's question must surely be, yes, more so than you could possibly imagine. sad

grin

I'll second that. I know we've got Greatnan's jokes but I'm more of a visual humour type.

Greatnan Mon 23-Sep-13 09:14:40

I am all for as many threads as possible that are light-hearted. I have more or less given up on the jokes, as it became very hard to find any that would not offend somebody! However, I find that if I go back to the beginning of that thread, I have forgotten most of them so I don't mind reading them again. And of course new members can always read 'Just Jokes'.

Nice canary too.

Got this in an email today. It made me giggle.

Life just gets better as you get older doesn't it.
I was in a Starbucks recently when my stomach started rumbling. I realized that I desperately needed to fart.
The place was packed, but the music was really loud so to get relief and reduce embarrassment I timed my farts to the beat of the music.
After a couple of songs I started to feel much better.
I finished my coffee, got up and noticed that everyone was staring at me.
That's when I remembered that I was listening to my Ipod.

This is what happens when old people start using technology.

wisewoman that made me laugh out loud. grin

Charleygirl Mon 23-Sep-13 12:22:41

And me, the tears are rolling down my cheeks.

petallus Mon 23-Sep-13 16:50:15

Does this mean that science isn't so reliable after all? Hardly more so than the bible in this case! grin

petallus Mon 23-Sep-13 16:50:52

Wrong thread obviously. Will repost.

Marelli Mon 23-Sep-13 17:03:35

wisewoman, I hadn't read your post properly (a failing of mine, not reading posts properly!) and thought you had been farting in time to the music...shockgrin

thatbags Mon 23-Sep-13 17:40:48

Humorous quotations – samples from the new Oxofrd Dictionary thereof.

thatbags Mon 23-Sep-13 17:41:37

My fing ers are dyslexic

Elegran Mon 23-Sep-13 18:05:17

Thatbags That website told me on its front page"You’ve reached your limit of free Spectator articles for this month" "Subscribe from just £1 a week".

I have not read any articles, this month or any other month.

wisewoman Mon 23-Sep-13 19:31:05

Oh Marelli can you imagine the embarassment if I had done it! I wouldn't have posted it - too shy.

POGS Mon 23-Sep-13 20:20:20

wisewoman

That really did make me laugh, thank you. grin

POGS Mon 23-Sep-13 20:21:26

Oops so good I said it twice.

thatbags Mon 23-Sep-13 20:39:16

How odd, elegran! It's not telling me that.

positivepam Mon 23-Sep-13 20:42:12

Brilliant Wisewoman I also laughed out loud at that, must tell my DDs that, think they will really appreciate it. grin

Ana Mon 23-Sep-13 20:58:56

How strange! It's now showing a different cartoon....confused
(I didn't get that message, either, thatbags and elegran)

Ana Mon 23-Sep-13 21:01:30

No, no - take no notice, I meant the Humorous Quotations link didn't give me that message...
I could have sworn I looked at the Twitter link before...blush

Elegran Mon 23-Sep-13 21:31:10

I shall have another look. Maybe it will have forgotten that it thought I had had my ration.

Elegran Mon 23-Sep-13 21:34:05

It is OK now. Some good quotes there.

Mishap Mon 23-Sep-13 22:28:10

Brilliant! My FIL used to fart totally indiscriminately whenever he stood up - we felt like chaining him to his chair!
