My lovely nephew has joined this 'random acts of kindness' initiative to start the year, and posted this message on Facebook to get others involved. I've joined in, and thought some of you might like this to spread around your nearest and dearest:
'To start this year off in a loving way I'm participating in this pay-it-forward initiative: the first 6 people who comment on this status with 'I'm in' will receive a surprise from me at some point in this calendar year - anything from a book, a ticket, a visit, something homegrown or made, a postcard, absolutely any surprise!
There will be no warning and it will happen when the mood comes over me and I find something that I believe would suit you and make you happy. These 6 people must make the same offer in their FB profile and distribute their own joy. Simply copy this text onto your profile, (don't share) so we can form a web of connection and kindness.
Let's do more nice and loving things for each other in 2014, without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other. Here's to a more friendly and love filled year!!'

What a lovely nephew you have, how lucky are you and what a nice thing for him to do in this sometimes money driven greedy world 
Unfortunately I can not contribute, I do not know one side of facebook to the other.
It's taking off. My nephew now has his 6 participants, and my son has joined in. It's not like the chain letter type of thing - there's a limit of 6, but it's good to see the ripples spreading. I've got some ideas for my surprises - a babysitting voucher, home-made bread, a book, visit with flowers, a hand-written letter instead of the usual email, a poem........lots of ideas. I like this!
Good for your nephew when - I suspect kindness is a family trait.
You don't need a Facebook page to do this henetha. My church group has been engaged in 'Random Acts of Kindness' since the book of the same name (author Danny Wallace) was published in about 2004/2005. It's been a very humbling, exciting and occasionally moving thing to be involved in.
I like this idea and hope that it spreads everywhere in some small way. Small acts of kindness are easy to do and, like a smile to a stranger, may brighten someone's day...
