Just read an amusing, light hearted reflection on life by Hunter Davies in the ST magazine. Given that there are a couple of threads on ageing and wealth as we age. I thought I'd flag it up.

Do remind me who he is - got a blank right now ;)

Husband of the late Margaret Forster, he is a well known journalist (Sunday Times, but not exclusively ) and has the OBE.

Love Hunter Davies, his wit is so dry and spot on

Sorry it's not the full article. I didn't look at it properly. Really, what must you think of me? confused

I'm looking forward to reading it - we don't get the UK papers here until the following day.
Hunter Davies came onto Gransnet last year to answer questions.

"Thank you Alea for your prompt response to my question"
"That's all right, granjura, don't mention it"smile
"Oh, but , I forgot, you didn't hmm"

Thank you Hilda for providing the link. I did like reading about his 'collections' and his attitude to having a glass of wine ( or two)!
I think he be fun to meet at a party!

Oh dear Alea - I can't get on my knees at the mo- but thank you, so very much (you just can't help it can you???).

Been rather busy doing physio, exercise machine, had a snooze as exhausted after the walk- you know ... life. Come on ... stop it, it's tiresome, truly.

Why is this thread deteriorating to bickering??

granjura Sun 10-Apr-16 19:30:11

I so agree- there was just no need. Same old, same old...again and again- why?

Apologies J52- will keep away, sorry.

I loved Hunter's article. So amusing and down to earth. Can't believe he's 80 now and so sad Margaret died.

granjura I hope your medication allows a nice glass of wine just as Hunter is probably enjoying, at the moment.
