Shoe gel pads; help

I'm trying to put some sticky gel pads in the end of some court shoes to stop my feet slipping about in them. Is there an easy way of doing it? They're so sticky that I can't get them off my hand. I can't see anything on utube about it either. I've tried taking the end bit of the protective film off but then can't get the rest off.It's driving me mad.
