Is anyone in this group going through the pain of being denied seeing their grandchildren because of family disagreements and quarrels?

I'm fortunate enough not to be in this position but I have seen many threads here on just this subject in the past. It seems that nobody wins and all parties are losers ... is it possible to mend the rifts and start building bridges?

Yes, a lot. There is a thread on the Relationships board for "Support after estrangement"

Thanks for getting back to me. I surely appreciate it. This is a devastating event happening to me.

Esmeralda......I've requested family counseling with the four of us but there's no guarantee of acceptance of it from them.

Thanks so much, muffinthemoo.

Sadly children are used in break up of all sorts of relationships, not just marriage - all very sad. Communication is the key - either with the parents of the children or through counseling/mediation - easier said than done though. Good Luck

I'm afraid that it's the children who have to take a back seat in any breakups or disagreements and it isn't right ! They don't appear to be allowed a voice ! Why not ?
