Has anyone else over 75 received a letter to say their free licence expires on February 29th next year?
It asks for a phone call now to pay and details of how to pay online or by Direct debit.
I actually received this letter last month, 6 months before it is due to be paid.
It seems like indecent haste to me and them having access to millions of pounds to use.

Letter was addressed to The Occupier.

ann please do not touch it as it is spam. I received one but I was told I would receive info nearer the time (May next year) I think re cost because let's face it, we do not know how much it will cost.

Mine came from an official source and arrived last week. Do not give a penny or your account will be emptied.

They come to an end in June so not sure why they would say it's February. If your licence is due to be renewed in Feb I would expect you to get another 3 months free and then pay for the remaining months - assuming you will be paying and not still eligible for free one.

Just looked on tvlicensing website and it says if you have a free one now you are covered until 31 May and you don't have to do anything now.

So your letter sounds a bit iffy.

I did think that which is why I ignored it until now and thought I would ask you wise people.
The Occupier bit alerted me.
Thank you.

The scammers are getting so clever and so convincing that it scares me.
People as old as I am or even older are easily taken in by these things , I am quite savvy but this was good, however not good enough.

Good ann at least some dosh will stay in your bank account. I did not think for a minute they would go down that route- silly me, if they can make a £ anywhere they will.
