I just wanted to warn you all of this scam.
Twice today I have had automated messages on our landline.
The gist of both messages was that my Amazon Prime account was about to auto-renew and my bank account debited by (?), and if I wanted to speak to anyone about it, to ....
I ended both calls at that point, so don't know if I was going to be told press a number or dial a number, but either way, it would have been a bad move.
Though I don't actually have an Amazon Prime account, I do buy from Amazon quite often (last time only two days ago), I have been offered a month's free trial every time recently when making a purchase. Because of that, it did cross my mind that I might have inadvertently signed up for it, but a quick check of my account showed that I hadn't.
I know most of us are pretty clued up about such scams, but that doesn't always stop people from falling for a well (or badly-) timed one, so I thought I'd warn you about this one anyway.
Well, well. Is it ‘global warming’ or ‘cloud seeding’?
