Perfume favourites and why?

I have a “ signature” perfume Nuxe Prodigieux, I find the scent uplifting and really sensuous.

For every day I use scents from Jeanne en Provence, their perfumes are from £8-£20 a bottle, the smells really make you feel as though you’re in Southern France, light, delicate, feminine floral notes.

Special occasions it’s Juliet has a Gun Lady Vengeance, it is so provocative and empowering.

What are your favourites and why?

CK one summer.
That too uplifts my spirits which is needed at the moment.
And DKNY Apple.

timetogo, Id forgotten about CK1, I wore that years ago it’s a really fresh clean smell, I’m sure I shared it with my husband.

I like all Calvin Klein perfumes, but CK1 is my absolute favourite. It's so fresh and summery.

CK Euphoria is a favourite as is YOU by Armani. Perfume can transport me to a time and place

Sortilege - the original. I first came across this when it was bought for a colleague in the early 70s. Beautiful!

I’m allergic to perfumes they set off my migraines, but the last one I could wear (now allergic to it) was Victor and Rolf, ‘Flower Bomb’.

Anna Sui (the original) hard to get hold of now, but I manage, I first used it when my DD1 and I used to go to Camden Market, long before the GCs were born and it reminds me of happy days spent rummaging around, sometimes a bus ride to Spitalfields , Brick lane and the Angel Islington.
It seems a very long time ago.

Cold weather perfumes - Obsession by Calvin Klein, Black Orchid by Tom Ford. Warm weather perfumes - Manifesto by Isabella Rossellini, Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden.
All four have been around for years, I try samples of new smells most years, but inevitably end up returning, at least to my cold weather favourites.
The first time each year I use Obsession, it instantly conjures up good memories, smells like Christmas, night's out, parties, getting drunk, laughter, generally getting "dressed up" and having a good time.
I first smelt Black Orchid on a man, thought it an amazing smell, very very sexy.
I can't remember when/why I first tried Manifesto, possibly/probably it was on special offer somewhere. It's no longer produced, it does appear on online sites, but reviews are inevitably bad. I assume it's very old stock, been badly stored or it's fake.
I was given Green Tea as a gift by my son's then girlfriend, years ago, and I liked it straight away. It's cheap and easy to find.
If anyone is keen to try something different, I recommend any of the Escentric Molecules range, they're known as the anti-fragrance fragrance. Very individual on each person, the first time I smelt one of them on a man, I just wanted to keep sniffing him (tbh, I wanted to lick him). Slightly embarrassing to say the least, given it was in a queue in Tesco, and he was nearly young enough to be my g'son. He just smelt amazingly good, almost like all the nicest smells in the world added together, really hard to describe. If I smell someone a bit different, I offer a compliment (as I did with the young man in Tesco) and ask what they're wearing, and it's very often one of the EM range.

Aesop Marrakech is my favourite. Very expensive, so a very rare treat from Liberty of London . Buying from there adds to the pleasure.

I love Black Tulip by Shay & Blue. It’s really special to me (sadly don’t have any right now though) . The smell instantly lifts my spirits . My DH bought a bottle for me a few Christmas’s ago because he was panicking that he didn’t have anything for me and he liked the look of the box and bottle .

Lancome Poeme for me - I get many favourable comments when wearing it - I sometimes like the smell of perfume on others, but when I try it on me it is awful.

My favourite is Chance by Chanel but I have decided to save it until we can visit our daughter and her family again so I am using an M&S perfume called New York, it smells a little like Azure but is way cheaper!
