Diana was the first, Charles made the mistake of defending himself, but he didn’t dish the dirt.

Traditionally the royals didn’t wash their dirty linen in public, but more recently there have been televised interviews, and clearly washing dirty linen in public. Either Diana or Charles was the first I think.
