For me it's the Horror channel - dreadful music lots of screaming + shouting + mostly z list films arghhh!

Litter louts and vandels.

Grannybags Mon 03-May-21 10:05:33

Joggers who don't give way and breath all over me

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-May-21 10:13:35

Fly tippers

Grandmajean Mon 03-May-21 10:16:16

I'm with you Grannybags and could add a few Z list media "stars" who have no talent but still seem to be making money !

FannyCornforth Mon 03-May-21 10:17:16

Ooh, good thread
Carol Vorderman ?

FannyCornforth Mon 03-May-21 10:19:39

Strictly speaking - Room101 contains your worst fear.
In Winston Smith's case it was rats.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-May-21 10:20:58

Of course you are correct FannyCornforth I was thinking along the lines of the TV programme.

My worst fear COCKROACHES

grandmajet Mon 03-May-21 10:23:05

Well, Carol Vorderman is a bit scary, FannyCornforth!

For me, litterlouts/fly tippers have to be top of the list. Although I’d dearly like to put spiders in!

For me it is old signage. Someone puts up a sign to say that so and so is 40 and it is still there years later, grrrrrrr. Also, near out village there were two signs advertising food festivals which I managed to take down myself. One was for 2014 and the other 2016. Come on! The person putting it up there should be responsible for removing it. Room 101 please.

NotAGran55 Mon 03-May-21 10:30:40

Dogs off leads would be top of the list .

henetha Mon 03-May-21 10:32:04

Poisonous snakes

FannyCornforth Mon 03-May-21 10:32:28

Grandmajet yes, I think that it would be perfectly possible to torture me with Sun Life adverts on a loop.

'Not a newcomer' in that simpering, patronising tone

I'll take parsnip jam over that every time

'Not a newcomer' in that simpering, patronising tone

How wonderful to find someone else who gets annoyed with that ghastly, not a newcomer line, FannyCornforth

Makes my toes curl

As for Room 101 I'd put slugs in. The slugs that wander around on a wet evening just waiting for me to go outside, barefoot.

Which I do, so it's my fault I guess.

Redhead56 Mon 03-May-21 10:39:05

Fly tippers they are lazy selfish morons who ruin the landscape.

grandmajet Mon 03-May-21 10:41:13

I wonder if slugs would put barefoot grans who stand on them into room 101? ??

FannyCornforth Mon 03-May-21 10:45:59

Gannygangan
And there are two versions of the damn thing!

There's one where she says it with her fingers in the 'temple position'; a mannerism favoured by Tony Blair in his 'just a normal type of guy' pomp.

And then there's another; where she delivers the immortal words:
'Not a newcomer' and puts down her pen in a forceful and exasperated fashion; as if she wants to give those pesky parvenus a jolly good talking to.

Do you think that I should get out more, perhaps?

Any person that makes a scam call or sends a scam text or email. Think it will be full up!

My neighbours kids and they are very much grown up, in their late 40s/50s. They do my absolute head in. My neighbours are an elderly couple who live in blissful harmony with visiting carers Mon-Fri, sure there is a bit arguing and normal neighbour noise but on the weekend their kids visit and all they do is shout and argue. The son is always demanding money off them (paper thin walls) and the daughter is so angry and shouty and always kicking their poor dogs which is whimpering and whining

Redhead56 Mon 03-May-21 12:13:31

JaneJudge I would take my radio to the garden and have really loud music on to drown out the noise. I would also ring the RSPCA about the poor dogs that’s disgraceful behaviour.

Adults writing LOL.
“Awww hun”
Lip fillers.

JaneJudge Mon 03-May-21 12:16:43

I know sad they have a dog walker in the week but I think the son or daughter are supposed to walk it on the weekend and they just don't. I really hate to think the couple are taken advantage of. They are like the Grandparents in Mum - BBC series (I love them grin )

On GN. “the usual suspects”. “Certain posters”.
