I keep my dogs away from woods at this time of the year. Not that we have much woodland on the Fens. I will be very interested to hear what's causing it.

I understand that with early diagnosis and treatment it need not be fatal - so don't put off that visit to the vet if you are in any doubt.

This is for all of us who have loving and well loved dogs, I just watched Countryfile which raised news of a nasty canine bug, so if your dogs get lethargic, and have diarrhoea and vomiting, please get them to your Vet ASAP as this autumn bug can be fatal. They are as yet uncertain as to whether it could be caused by a mite, but it has been noted to be worst in dogs regularly walked in woods in the South and East.
