We are offering Gransnet users who are living with osteoarthritis exclusive access to Half The Battle, an app designed to help people living with osteoarthritis manage their pain. Download the free app here to begin your journey.

Here’s what Half The Battle has to say: “Suffering from chronic pain can be a lonely and daunting experience. It no longer has to be. Half the Battle is a 3 week, digitally delivered programme that leverages the power of coaching and social dynamics to create meaningful and lasting change. It is designed for people living with osteoarthritis to live well and manage their pain. Download the app here.

Upon registering, you’ll be matched with a fellow group of people living with OA. Our expert coach will then guide you through a curated learning journey on both physical solutions - spanning movement, lifestyle and recovery - to positive reframing to draw on your incredible natural ability to overcome pain. These practical, bite-sized tools are drawn from the latest thinking and science in chronic pain management.”

The app is free and available from the Google Play Store. The next Half the Battle cohort kicks off this coming Monday, 10 February. In the meantime, download the app here to meet your group of new found friends.

Half the Battle is offering £20 in Amazon vouchers to the first users who download the app and participate in the programme for a week or more.

If you’d like to share your experience of the app on Gransnet, please feel free to come back to this thread and share with other users.

I’ve downloaded the app but I’m unsure how it can link me up with Gransnet and the offer of an Amazon voucher.

Having a body racked with osteoarthritis, I'd be more than happy to look at this app.

My fiancee has Rhumatoid Arthritis, and me, well... Hands, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, and of course spinal (lumber n neck).

I have.plenty of other issues too, but a few of them stem from the spinal osteoarthritis....

Ps
I've had it for over 20 years, and I'm just fifty.

Maxblank Mon 10-Feb-20 12:14:12

I've downloaded the app, and just registered.

angie95 Mon 10-Feb-20 15:06:55

Linollie21 Mon 10-Feb-20 15:50:15

Linollie21 Mon 10-Feb-20 15:52:23

I Angie! I've got an 'angie95' in my group, maybe it's you?

heidimargaret Mon 10-Feb-20 18:54:36

I have downloaded and signed up.

GrandmaJan Mon 10-Feb-20 18:56:13

I have Angie95 in my group. Do you think we are all in the same group?

Maxblank Tue 11-Feb-20 23:55:37

I've removed the app, as after a couple days, it really isn't for me, or I'd guess even for any average UK person.

It such ...... I'll fill this bit in when I'm told to feed back on it

@justinebgransnet
When will the feedback topic start and the survey?

Maxblank Tue 11-Feb-20 23:56:55

I was MacBlank, and yeah, I reckon we were all in the same group?

TheMaggiejane1 Fri 14-Feb-20 11:50:26

Is it too late to join in now?

NotSpaghetti Fri 14-Feb-20 21:00:00

I'm not sure I want my data all over the place. It seems to be sharing it quite a bit.

GrandmaAlma Wed 19-Feb-20 11:59:12

I'm finding it useful but I'm not used to the voice check ins. What do others think?

Oldiegoodie Thu 20-Feb-20 16:34:55

not sure I mind. does the it sound like it is from america?

GrandmaJan Fri 21-Feb-20 13:30:52

GrandmaAlma I’m also not used to voice check ins and I hate my voice so I’ve not recorded anything. It’s almost certainly an American app.

ExD1938 Sat 22-Feb-20 13:39:11

What is this app supposed to do to help us? Can someone explain? Is it like a 'help forum' for people with similar problems to get together and swap stories?
