We have a new survey on the coronavirus pandemic, focusing mainly on your experiences of living under lockdown.

You may have seen or completed a similar survey on coronavirus a few days ago, but this is a new one helping us understand how to help you navigate these challenging times.

This survey is open to all UK Gransnet users.

All who complete the survey will be entered into a prize draw where 1 GNer will win a £100 voucher of their choice (from a list).

Click here to complete the survey

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Well that didn’t work. When I got to the bank of questions about rating most concerned, least concerned it wouldn’t let me put in anything higher than a 4.

Obviously I’m not allowed to say that Im not in the least concerned about feeling lonely.

This is going to skew your statistics.

We all have to be more concerned than we are!!!!!!!!

SueDonim Fri 27-Mar-20 13:24:11

eglantine I think on that question, you rank the statements themselves in order of what concerns you most ie 1-8, not within each individual statement. It’s hard to explain but I managed to make it work by doing that.

The questionnaire needs clarifying.

Wibby Fri 27-Mar-20 13:37:28

doesnt work

FlexibleFriend Fri 27-Mar-20 13:43:43

It kept changing my answers, think it's got a glitch.

Eglantine21 Fri 27-Mar-20 13:47:04

Oh thanks. I thought it was each statement.

Rosalyn69 Fri 27-Mar-20 13:48:56

It kept asking for the age of my grandchildren when I had ticked the “none” box. Humbug.

glammanana Fri 27-Mar-20 17:16:15

All done

Charleygirl5 Fri 27-Mar-20 17:40:01

Like the last one, this does not work. Question 11 kindly filled in the numbers for me and they were not what I wanted. Like the last one I gave up.

I do not understand why it works for a select few. I will not be wasting my time any more.

ExD Fri 27-Mar-20 17:45:13

Its not at all well thought out - has it been done by a student?

Marydoll Fri 27-Mar-20 20:35:51

I had no problem at all completing it.

Done

Sue is correct. The question requires you to rank your answers 1 to 8 i.e. most worried 1 down to least worried 8.

Constructing questionnaires is an art in itself. Most questions should have an 'other please specify box for those who don't fit into the set categories. I never know what to put in the married [yes for 54 years] or separated [yes DH under lock down in a care Home] if I say married then it is assumed that I am not living alone.

I too have wasted time on the same section. Poorly explained,

Thecatshatontgemat Sat 28-Mar-20 09:53:36

Tried to do for the second time.
This is STILL NOT WORKING!!

rocketstop Sat 28-Mar-20 11:16:51

Come on Gransnet..survey monkey needs to tweak this, I just tried again and question 11, it is still letting you put one answer in, then it takes one of your previous ones out. Frustrating !

Calendargirl Sat 28-Mar-20 11:55:09

Done.

Charleygirl5 Sat 28-Mar-20 12:03:55

I cannot understand why some folk sail through this and the rest of us are tearing our hair ou!

cathyd Sat 28-Mar-20 13:16:58

Thanks for the explanation SueDonim. I think you are correct, the question needs clarifying. I must have put the same answer to a couple of questions and had to redo them before it would let me continue

Maybelater2020 Sat 28-Mar-20 13:22:17

Done no problems

I have done this but like ExD think it really is very badly constructed. It is making false assumptions all over the place. At best it's a rough sweep.

I made a stab at it. Didn't misread the info re the "put them in order" question and had no technical issues though.

NotSpaghetti Sat 28-Mar-20 14:35:47

Who devised the survey GNHQ?
I wouldn't use them again if it's avoidable!

Can’t get any further than the one word to describe the mood in our house. Despite answering in one word, it keeps saying I haven’t
