Dating sites recommendation?

Hi,

Posting on behalf of my mum smile who's been widowed three years and is quite keen on meeting someone new. She's 65, very fit, healthy and young at heart.
I wonder if any of you have used any sites that you'd recommend? She lives in a rural part of the country, not the south east so we don't want anything too London-centric!
Would love to hear your recommendations and any top tips that any of you, who have done this yourselves, would like to share.
Thank you flowers

She could try Saga....all very respectable X

I don't know her size but I met my husband through Big Cupid.

Hmm, she's teeny, but thanks for the suggestion vampirequeen smile

I didn't know Saga had a dating site - I'll investigate Hilda. Have you used that one yourself?

A very happy couple we know first met through a site called 'plenty of fish'.

What about Classic FM Romance? - you can find it on their website and the audience for Classic FM tends to be about the right sort of age.

ah yes, heard of Plentyoffish, so thanks for recommending too. I think she's aware of the classicfm one though we've not looked at it yet smile

Wish your granny good luck! I can recommend match - a lot of users and lovestruck... and...maybe if some grandpas want to find a beautiful lady I can recommend the site that I've used personally 2 years ago (it's free) https://mymagicbrides.com

I have subscribed to saga but its £78 for 6 months , when you put in all your info, and state preferences , its just easy to click with someone local on a bus, or elsewhere by accident.
I like friendship as a base then go from there.

Out of curiosity I had a quick look at the Classic FM site. I am still laughing at one man who posted "If you can cook and clean that is useful as I like to spend my time doing other work and enjoying myself." hmm grin grin

Good on him Faye at least he's being honest.

I've tried Plenty of Fish before but only got idiots really. A lot of young men wanted to date but not looking for that.

I agree Mick every outing is an opportunity to meet someone and start up a friendship. It's just been a while and now it's wearing a bit thin and I think sometimes it's never going to happen.

I would love to cook and clean and be useful while you enjoy yourself, said no enlightened woman ever! grin

"If you can cook and clean that is useful as I like to spend my time doing other work and enjoying myself."
Showed Mrs P this -- "sounds just like you" -- oops.

Maryapple. You certainly like to promote the 'Russian Brides Site'
That's twice now that I've seen a reference.

I read that you can meet people in the supermarket. I certainly see lone men shopping, they seem to be the ones blocking the aisles so it would be easy to start a conversation.

This thread seems to be bringing out the spam this morning. It started off sensibly and had been over taken by what looks like potentially dodgy "contact" sites.

POF or Plenty of fish can attract men who are only after one thing, as I am sure other sites do.. Err on the side of caution always
