I'm a 76 year old Gma, widowed for 32 years. I had a 20 year long, mainly sexless, relationship that ended 3 years ago. I don't miss the cooking, cleaning, worrying that this relationship caused, but I found I was definitely missing the occasional sex. I definitely don't want another old man to look after, so yesterday I bought myself a little 'friend's. Oh my goodness, why didn't I do this before? I always thought these little gadgets were for sad people, well if that's true I am happy to be so sad! Has anyone done this? You're the only people who know, so mum's the word. I think my daughter would have a fit if she knew.

TMI ?

I was given a rampant rabbit as a present some years ago but binned it as I was concerned about my sons finding it when I died. ?
I can’t see men becoming entirely obsolete. Someone needs to put the bins out.

Well one things for sure, you won`t have to worry about STD`s.
Or feel under pressure.
Good for you.

Jaffacake2 Wed 31-Mar-21 11:39:06

TMI

TMI?! It’s on the relationships board. Frankly, some of you could probably do with a few purchases. It might broaden your horizons.

I’ve often thought how odd it is that sex is rarely mentioned on this site. People might want / need to share their worries / queries / discoveries with others without the slightly Bictorian attitude of ‘too much information’. People write about physical and mental health problems and (hopefully) get support here. Why should sex be taboo in this day and age?

You’re absolutely right I take it back. I was being a bit squeamish. I apologise.

I meant Victorian!!

My “little friend” works its magic for me, usually when DH and I are apart. Recommended.

Vickysponge Wed 31-Mar-21 13:20:28

I’m not really sure why you have to share it? I agree with others- TMI

On mumsnet ( which has a much lower age demographic which = more sex talk ) you have to have been a member for 3 months - or it could even be 6? before you post about anything sexual. That is purely due to all sex trolls they get on there.
They can also name change to protect their privacy.
You can’t do that here.
A 76 year old woman posting about the joys of ‘self love’ actually makes me feel a bit sick, but I’m happy to be Victorian. smile

I believe we men are more famous for self-help in this area, be it with mechanical help orn without. I have known a number of ladies of all ages who cheerfully admitted to self-knowledge, and a number who denied it held any interest for them. All were straight and had or had had partners. No-one is wrong. Your body, your beliefs, your choice, no-one else's business. But the person who doesn't relish orgasm when it happens is unusual indeed.

How refreshing....being told how we should behave.

Now that's TMI in my book.

Jaxjacky Wed 31-Mar-21 14:36:59

Had one for over 20 years (not the same one!), DH fully aware, any more would be tmi...

Esspee Wed 31-Mar-21 14:40:23

I expected the usual crowd to pile on saying they’d rather have a nice cup of tea. Instead it is TMI.
Time to join the 21st century.

Well I used to have one when I worked abroad for a few years and OH was in UK - imagine my delight when my baggage got searched not once but twice in one day while on internal US flights blush. The young man checking it the second time blushed to his hair roots while rifling through my undies but did let me keep the forgotten lighter he found in a side pouch even though they are banned on flights. He finished the check really quickly too, and zipped my bags up really well ?

That’s interesting about mumsnet.

Blossoming Wed 31-Mar-21 15:51:01

I do hope it isn’t a pearl necklace being clutched Emily49

I do enjoy a good cup of tea Esspee as long as there are no teabags involved!

I’ll get me coat grin
