Reminds me of a programme I used to find some nights on my little tranny back in the 50s and 60s called 'Search the Scriptures' - about how it's all there in the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation. Very entertaining.

Albeit I'm now a Humanist, even when I was a member of the Church of Scotland I never believed in the literal truth of the Bible.

My parents had a book - 'The Bible as History' - now that was much more interesting.

I've still got it! A fascinating book! It was got me hooked on archaeology, and why I am dragging maniac kicking and screaming to the Holy Land in september

My aunt had that book and I read some of it when I was visiting her. Of course there is a good historical basis to OT stories, though not Adam and Eve...and the serpent.
