Listening to these bands will make you gay and then god will be sad (via @madeupprophet on Twitter).

So funny, so sad! Poor things who think like this!

Arse. #notamerican

That's some list!

Besides, being a northerner, I prefer short As when there's a choice.

MiceElf Thu 25-Apr-13 09:27:10

That's the trouble with Internet. Once upon a time this nonsense would have been confined to a tiny group in a tin shack in Hicksville. Now it's spreading. That's sad.

I think the long a makes the word much more effective. It takes longer to listen to.

Bags Thu 25-Apr-13 09:34:01

And I think the short A makes it more effective – more 'bite' wink

Bags Thu 25-Apr-13 09:35:07

Also, 'arse' isn't a word I use. I just say bum.

Bags Thu 25-Apr-13 09:36:13

And Minibags says 'butt' as do her Scottish peers.

Mishap Thu 25-Apr-13 09:36:55

Well - it's just pitiful.

sunseeker Thu 25-Apr-13 09:40:28

I gave up reading after the first paragraph - utter tripe!

annodomini Thu 25-Apr-13 10:03:05

I really thought this was a spoof until I had a look at the other pages on the site. By the way, are there any bands that won't make my grandchcildren gay? I really need to know this... hmm

Elegran Thu 25-Apr-13 10:05:27

Elton John and several others are in there twice. Some are there because they played gay characters in films!

Cole Porter? May have been gay himself, but wrote some great lyrics - not exhorting us to be gay at all, just to enjoy life!

That, of course, is the big sin.

merlotgran Thu 25-Apr-13 10:06:29

Good grief! That's a huge list. Is the whole world gay as a result? shock

Elegran Thu 25-Apr-13 10:15:16

Not very sucessful at seducing us are they?

Lilygran Thu 25-Apr-13 10:48:32

MiceElf is right again. They are out there and now I know about them! hmm only solution is to stop surfing the net and that's a step too far.

Bags Thu 25-Apr-13 10:55:51

Actually, I don't believe homophobia is spreading. If anything it is becoming more and more unacceptable, partly perhaps because of such idiocy as this list.

feetlebaum Thu 25-Apr-13 11:02:39

Oh boy - ignorance is certainly bliss!

Why these religiots are so frightened of homosexuals I cannot fathom - after all, if their god hated them, why did he create so many?

The hatred just oozes out...

Loved the reference in the list to "Ted Nugent (loincloth)"!

feetlebaum Thu 25-Apr-13 11:03:23

Wot, no Band of the Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders?

soop Thu 25-Apr-13 11:39:38

feetlebaum grin

Grannyknot Thu 25-Apr-13 12:14:48

Greatnan Thu 25-Apr-13 12:53:42

I expect the Sally Army band is O.K.

I agree that homophobia seems to be declining, and certainly it is amongst most young, intelligent people. As sometimes happens, the law led the way and was followed by changing attitudes. I think that for once we should applaud TV and film, for showing some positive images of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender people. And well done to the famous people who came out (boo to Cliff Richards.)

Elegran Thu 25-Apr-13 13:17:05

What did they think of that song about clean-living Christian young men, YMCA?

Eloethan Thu 25-Apr-13 14:06:30

It would be funny if it wasn't so stupid and damaging. I think they've got Kate Bush wrong (Kissed a Girl) - shouldn't it be Katy Perry?

j08 Thu 25-Apr-13 16:18:15

"being a northerner"

I thought you started out down here Bags. grin

I think we like to think homophobia is declining. Not so sure about the reality.
