You need to be able to read Dutch to get the details, but the main message is clear: this province of The Netherlands doesn't want any more modern windmills. Sarc on /can't think why!/ sarc off.

Well,
Have been scouring the Dutch newspapers today and it seems that 80% of the Dutch people are really against these windturbines.
The general opinion seems to be that they are very expensive to buy, very expensive to run,...higher electricity bills, and inefficient.
Inefficient because they need a wind force between 4 to 8 and in Holland most of the year the windforce is below 4.
They are also subsidised with tax payers monies.
They are also a Blot On The Lanscape!!!
They kill birdlife.

The Dutch are also not very happy that they are being put just 400 meters- the legal minimum required- from where ever. Apparently in France it has to be at least 2500 meters.

The only people in favour are the greens, you know the kind of people who would only eat meat if they were sure the animal was treated with ayurvedic
medicine, and had physio therapy twice a week.

Look up NEODYMIUM, and you will see how may Chinese people are poisened for the green energy policy.

www.vesta.com I think these are the boys supplying Holland.

They also feel there are plenty of fossil fuels available. Russia can supply the rest of Europe for next 200 years with gas.

This is only a report, no questions can be taken,
as I understand the balls of it myself. grin

That should read vestas, not vesta.

The Dutch do seem to have gone overboard with wind farms. They do have an awful lot.

80% of the Dutch people seem very sensible to me.

I'm not against wind turbines. In the right place in moderation. But the ' powers that be' seem to have tunnel vision. First it was nuclear, then gas was going to be our saviour and now it's wind power.
Modern water turbines are exceedingly efficient but largely ignored by investors and even in in the UK small solar farms work well in the right place such as on factory roofs. To my mind, in a small country such as ours we shouldn't be reliant on just one method.
