You watching that little lad on BBC2 at the moment. He's having a great time winding up Jonathon Woss at the moment. grin

Yes, I had gone to bed and was fast asleep. Don't have a telly anyway. What was the lad's name?

j07 Mon 04-Feb-13 08:32:37

It was Brian Cox. Couldn't think of his name last night. He was giving one of his lectures. There were some celebs in the audience.

j07 Can a man of nearly 40 be called "a lad" and would he thank you for it? You have a most idiosyncratic and rather interesting approach to age.

Brian Cox is being touted as the natural 'successor' to David Attenborough, though there is such a multiplicity of good science and nature presenters, that I see no need for a successor. I don't find Cox particularly inspiring on topics not related to his own sphere of physics. My favourite nature presenter is Kate Humble - enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a very good communicator.

How near 40? Told a young lad celebrating his 34th birthday on Saturday that he didn't look a day over 30. He seemed very pleased. And Brian Cox does look teenagery-"that one small head should carry all he knew"(probable misquote)

absent Mon 04-Feb-13 12:06:24

Actually, I think he's over 40 already, but I agree that he looks quite boyish.
