from poet Ian McMillan: Ian McMillan ‏@IMcMillan 1h

"September has cleared its throat, tuned up, got its costume on, got into gear, put its paints on the palette and its music on the stand. Go!"

I love September.

This is my favourite time of year too, and after the really lovely summer, the trees and fields are looking great, the downs had an almost peaceful feel to them yesterday, but as you say Gally it is what is due to come that I am not keen on.

Yes - autumn is lovely - and all the sweeter as you know it heralds 6 months of rain!! And then spring again.

One of the joys of getting older is that time seems to pass faster and the dullness of winter will be gone quicker - but summer too rushes by.

Aka Mon 02-Sep-13 16:38:56

Not so Mishap the winter d-r-a-g-s by but summer races past.

I've got collated doves nesting in one of my conifers. There are two eggs. What's that all about? hmm
