Well, I'm afraid I think it's a pipe dream now that places like India have found her industrial feet and are determined to mine and burn more coal than most of the rest of the world does. Their attitude is "so what? You've had your industrial revolution, now we're having ours and we're going to burn coal to fuel it whether you like it or not!"

Rosequ - your post echoes my thoughts exactly. There are many examples of how the climate has changed naturally over thousands of years. Pollution, now, is something we can take the blame for.

Yes, we have to adapt to deal with it; there are many ancient cities under the sea because they were caught unawares and didn't have our knowledge - or perhaps they knew and moved to higher ground abandoning their cities to the sea.

If we accept that there is climate change due to man's activity, and the devastation it is already causing then we have to act.

I don't know what's happening to the climate. We're told that the world is getting warmer and the ice is melting but the Antarctic ice is growing. Could this simply be a natural phenomenon? After all, Greenland is so called because when the Vikings discovered it, it was indeed a green land. The ice returned a couple of hundred years after they settled and all the Viking descendants died or left.

I have to admit I'm totally on the fence about this because I just can't make up my mind.
