I remember once seeing a moon that looked as it had dropped out of the sky and was hovering just above the earth. It was a sight I'll never forget.

Now another 'super moon' is due on November 14 th - next Monday night, and this one ought to just as amazing.

Super Moon

This will be the best super moon since 1948, closest to the earth. I am hoping that there is not full cloud cover on the night.

Ooh thanks for reminding me. Hope it's a clear night.

The moon rises on that night at 16:42 so that's early enough for me to see it, if it isn't cloudy. I might try to photograph it with my new camera which has a 60× zoom lens. If I get good pictures I'll try to post one on here. It all depends on whether I can remember my password for the computer!

I am hoping to see it too in central Scotland, as long as it's a clear night

We are planning on watching too, apparently it will look at its largest as it is rising so watch early ladies..

Well I am quite excited about it as we will be flying down the length of Africa on that night on our way to Cape Town- to celebrate DH's 70th who was born there.

Last time we went, 15 years ago- I remember just how dark Africa was away from the coast- and how little light pollution there is - so the views should be amazing- booked my window seat!
