Further to some comments I've made previously on this topic, here is an article that argues that humans are "unusually violent mammals but averagely violent primates".

Articles like this put things in perspective for me and make me less likely to think badly of my species, something that's important to me in today's climate of anti-humanism, which feeling is spread even by people like David Attenborough, who ought to know better.

Yes, I know that's a clumsy sentence but I've got hedging to get on with and this is "only Gransnet" wink
