Oh my goodness, they are getting blown about today. It's amazing how the nest stands up to the gale.

Expected to, not expecting to, but who knows, maybe a lot of planning was going on in there.

The eggs were expecting to hatch one a day, as they were laid, so number three may emerge tomorrow. He'll need to fightt two of them for his meals.

I was sure I counted three earlier on. There were three eggs. I think they were larger than whatever is in the nest too. Maybe there are videos from before they hatched to check.

I didn't realise there had been a number three. Must have missed it, but it does look like there is an egg still in the nest which maybe hasn't hatched.

The little one looks stronger than he did earlier but he isn't challenging for the food. Mother is keeping on feeding the nearest beak, which is fatso. Perhaps he will get more when fatso falls asleep. That will be any minute now - he is stuffed full. I wonder if he ate number three?

Wonderful to be able to watch the ospreys. They're having their lunch just now, and the little one is getting its fair share.

number one seems to be beating up the little 'un

Just like one's grandchildren then grin

Thank you Elegran.
The bird/dinosaur link reminded me of the Florda manatees, which are related to elephants and not, as you might think, whales or dolphins. defenders.org/florida-manatee/basic-facts

I can only see two now, and number one seems to be beating up the little 'un. Not quite so beautiful.

Just a bit, elegran! grin

Baggs All baby birds show their prehistoric ancestry, but these are particularly gothic-looking. Could be the size - they are a bit bigger than bluetit chicks!

We’re hooked on watching a live streaming web-cam of a pair of Peregrine Falcons. Been watching since they hatched. The nest is up on high - Norwich Cathedral.

They are baby dinosaurs in the sense that birds are believed to be directly descended from dinosaurs. Same thing as us being a kind of ape.

Osprey chicks have hatched at Loch of the Lowes.
