My DD is very much into saving the planet. There are a couple of very interesting groups on Facebook; Journey to Zero Waste, Less plastic just fantastic and up cycled cloth collective.
Just read some post about inexpensive pressies. There are loads of inventive ideas for saving your pocket and the planet. I would very much like to see a separate topic on Gransnet for these ideas. We could share ideas, make some changes and help the planet at the same time.

I would like ideas for stocking fillers for two teenagers, which are not plastic tat. I've been looking on Mumsnet but the gifts seem a bit too young on the threads I've read.

Some great ideas on those sites. I am an avid recycler especially plastics and fibres. One of my favourite things is to use Pinterest for inspiration.

Beautiful things one can make with men's neckties.

Men's shirts are useful for all kinds of projects. I love this easy idea for upcycling sleeve cuffs into purses or even a case for a (smaller) smart phone.

I wonder if this thread would get more replies if moved to Chat. Mods?
